I feel the same about slow drivers in fast cars. They're a huge frustration because they will normally never let you past on the straights.

Yep, can be very frustrating.
I've found the best is to pull in tight behind in the corners, but not straight behind - that makes him think you're following him, and that you're OK with that.

Rather make sure you're always pulled far to one side, either inside or outside, and filling one mirror - even if that means going off your line. That gets the message across that you want to pass him, that you're not happy following behind him, and make him worry whether you're going to do something risky like dart up the inside, or go round the outside in a corner.

Try this - it normally works after a while with all but the thickest skins

Yup, he let me past coming out of the hairpin as well. That video is freakin funny . I don't really blame the guy for his style - I sure do wonder what it feels like to floor that beast down the back straight !!!!

Respect to him for taking it on track. It is great to see these type of cars on track even if they are on the cautious side. If someone starts frustrating me like that and won't let me pass an option is to back off or do a cool down and hopefully end up creating space.

Oh man that evo is quick! Can you find any videos of the blue STI with wide body kit? That car was also crazy fast!

That STI has a lot of grunt, but he's not quick in the corners and with braking.

There was another blue one there - Wayne Hay, and he's very quick - running 2m07's on Saturday.

Time Attack event at Red Star, 3rd December.
Quite expensive at R800, and not sure if they'll get the 120 cars and 40 bikes that they're hoping for.
If they do get 120 cars, then there'll be a lot of traffic on track.

Backed by Royal Purple, but at that price it's not a sponsorship, more like a commercial venture

Mmmm. I'm somewhat tempted, but not so sure.

I've decided to give this event a miss.
I wasn't fully on board, and was concerned about their organisation. Some of the things they said indicated a lack of knowledge about how Red Star works. Now they've announced that they're going to have 200m drag racing as well. For me, that's a deal-breaker because it'll restrict time on track even more. Sounds like they're scrabbling for entries...? Gaan verby...

Tomorrow (Sun 16th) is an open track day for cars only at Red Star Raceway.

Beginners to advanced, road or race cars, everyone welcome.
R800 full day.

You'll need a helmet, gloves, long trousers, long sleeves, and closed shoes (takkies OK)

I'll be there.
I need to put in some track time in my 86 in prep for Michelin Cup at Zwartkops end May.
