nothing wrong with hard parking and having boba... but when you could have gone on a drive today to the mountains and coast with the crew instead?!

I didn't see the point of me leaving Alameda at 7am to get to Alice's by 8am to wait an hour+ for people to eat and pay their tab and thus start a drive at/after 9am.

I don't get any thrills out of dealing with slow traffic and cyclists.

Well, the other thing for me at least was I realized since I'm still trying to break in my BRZ "correctly" that I wouldn't be able to bring RPMs up past about 4k, and that'd suck in the turns. :\

Well somebody's grumpy this morning lol

But I would have to agree with Drew, I'd prefer getting the driving out of the way THEN sitting there and eating at 9am

I ended up doing my own drive yesterday morning.

El Dorado Hills to Placerville

There are some damn good roads out here, dare I say, better than in the bay? If you guys are willing, I'd organize a drive out here.

Visited Santana Row today just to get outside a bit with the weather being nice.

Saw a bunch of interesting cars: Maserati, Porches, a BMW i8, an Audi R8, GTR R32 (which sounded so beautiful ), and one other BRZ.

Edit: Oh and also saw a line of old Chevy's coming in at the same time. The kind of nice classics where people make them sound loud (though not obnoxiously loud) and clean.

I gotta be honest: out of the Porches I saw there today if I had the choice I'd probably still take my BRZ.

It's Alice's... you have a drive to get there, no matter where you come from.

Set it up and they will come...

I think the issue is just you kinda get the options of either sitting for an hour while the roads might be emptier and then leaving later, or you go as soon as everyone meets up while the roads are emptier and then come back for a late breakfast/lunch. (shrug)

Driving hangry is never good lol. But yeah, Alice's is a pretty difficult place to set up logistically. It'd generally packed for the late breakfast, early lunch crowd. Best recourse is probably to eat before hand and stage at Alice's.

Out of all the cars you listed, I'd take the Skyline. I don't care for exotics.

Yeah, for sure. The sound the R32 made as it drove by... so nice.

I think the RB26 and 2JZ engines are the best sounding engines ever. The VQ and VR engines also sounds pretty nice.

well this is why we do what we do. next time we can just push everything to an earlier start. 6AM meet up, drive until 8AM then eat at Alice's right when they open (before the crowds). Then cruise some more if people feel like it or to accommodate those who couldn't wake up in time and showed up late, or ate on their own.

yeah, and then you'll get people bitching about it being too early for a drive.

you just can't win, plato.
