So was he saying the tune didn't have the fix included yet? When I contacted him about purchasing a tune he said it had been in the tune for a month now.

Well, looks like I'm in this club now too. Mine has been doing this since new, but only discovered it during cold Starr ups in the winter. But it wasn't predictable. I don't have any CEL's, runs and starts great when its warm.

Right, but what happened to cause him to suspect that the seals had failed. Was it something that appeared in datalogs? a sound he heard? Something else?

Or, you know, you could just be honest and take the car as-is to a mod friendly dealer, turbo and all, and see if they warranty it based on the fact it's an OEM issue.

It worked for me with the VVTI failures! Livermore Subaru just gave me a thumbs up and complimented my mods, lol.

What exactly was it doing during those cold starts? Noise? CEL?

I have been getting the popping noise in my intake during initial cold start-up. It does it a couple times and stumbles then its fine. No CEL's yet. Its been doing this since new and I now have a little over 10k miles.

I got a pop in the intake only (it only happened on one or two occasions) when attempting to get the car to turn over for cold-start on some of the earlier E85 tunes.

It only happened if i tried to start 4 or 5 times in a row in pretty quick succession. I've never heard it while in motion or under load. I'm assuming mine was probably caused more by the quick repeated start attempts vs an injector seal. What do you guys think, is that a safe assumption?

Its hard to say. Im on the same boat as you. I don't have any issues under load at all, or if its warm out. It will start up with no issues on a warmer morning.

Did your pop happen during the cranking/turning over or once the car had already started? Have you gotten it lately? What were the temps like when you were starting? Also which version of the E85 rom are you running?

Sorry for all the questions.

There is someone who had them replaced that had the popping after a cold start in cooler weather. Although I believe his would make the noise while reving when still cold.

\Its ok Pops usually happen after the car was started, typically for the first 5-8 seconds, then it idles fine. I got it this morning actually. Temps were in the mid fifties. I am running his latest 1.11 version of the E85 tune. It also did it on pumpgas as well.
