The dealer would have to prove your mods caused the problem. If they can not prove it. You're fine. Next time, save your money until you can afford a mechanical blower. Otherwise CAI, exhaust, and tunes are a great start.
Wait what's wrong with the electric supercharger?

From a legal standpoint, that's 100% correct.

But when the dealership says they will not cover it under warranty, how many owners have the resources (financial, legal, technical, time, etc) to effectively challenge the dealership?

The law (Moss-Magnussen) says the mfgr/dealer must prove the mod caused the failure. But in the real world, if the dealership denies your claim, it effectively becomes the owner's responsibility to prove it did not.

The service manager said they don't know where to start with all the modifications. That leads me to question their competency. As far as the ESC is concerned I would still choose it over any other forced induction system. It is simple, inexpensive, and for me operating only at WOT is just fine.

An electric charger to me is like a **** pump vs an erect **** on command. It gets the job done but you have to prepare for it in advance

Scrow down a bit and you will see some good explanations.

The real world is the Moss-Magnussen law. Otherwise it is not a law at all. So, looks like the dealer has to prove it.

Did you really direct us to a forum whose replies are 10 years old? If you haven't experienced the ESC then you really can't form an objective opinion.

Uhhh, don't believe things have changed much. Maybe batteries are lighter and last longer. Electricity sure works the same. I heard gays are really getting into the whole ESC thing.

Should have just bought a hybrid...this would work perfect with that. Anyway, people will want me to stay on topic. Back to see what the dealership ends up doing for the bloke.

jplt keep us updated.

For all of the ESC haters, its by far the best dollar/HP investment you can get with this car. It's cheaper than a full exhaust setup and produces far more power and torque.

Take a glance at that one genius.

OP I say prepare for the worst but hope for the best. Maybe its something totally crazy and unrelated and they will fix it! If not then that blows but I'm sure there are plenty of people on here willing to help you find parts and whatever else.

Agree, sounds like a MAF problem. Try unplugging the MAF sensor and see if it runs. Our cars run on MAF sensor by default, when MAF sensor is unplugged, ECM switch to MAP input. Good way to determined a faulty MAF sensor is to unplug it.

Btw, uninstall your aftermarket parts before bringing it to the dealer is not only deceiving, it also potentially remove the real source of problem, sending some poor mechanic on a wild goose chase with no pay. A complete waste of his or her time. If you want to play the game, you gotta pay the price. Or you can learn to do it yourself.

A faulty MAF sensor would probably throw a code. No codes were thrown but I will check that tomorrow. Thanks.
