Now tempted to dissect and remove it's chip hoping to be able to read its manufacturer part number then place in one of the remote heads.

The only problem is the valet key can’t be used to program an additional keys. I have two aftermarket FRS keys that are cut and have working remotes. I think I will pick up two valets and transplant the chips into my aftermarket keys and then throw my master key in the safe where I can’t loose it.

I did finally get that transponder cloner tool today. It identifies the OEM key as a 4D67 ID:19. My aftermarket chips are identified as 4D67 ID:67. I can’t find raw chips with ID:19 though. I’m going to look some more tomorrow.

Ditto Here

I am going to do the same with my original / master as well ..... I look forward to hearing what the chip ID's come up as on the valet keys when you get them. Earlier I had bought some ebay aftermarket valet keys which claimed to be "genuine Toyota" but no doubt far from. Very soft rubber on their grips so was very easy to cut out their chips. That on this real OEM key is a very tough plastic and presents a challenge.

Would anyone know if you can use Techstream to program just a valet key? I'll attempt to register keys to my car this week when a cable comes in. I lost my master key, so I wonder if I have to get a master key before a valet key, or if I can just get away with a valet key until I can save more cash.

Any ideas?

Any chance that someone found a solution?
I have a flip key fob bought on Amazon and TechStream with OBD USB cable.
Having trouble getting connected to the "SmartKey" section.
Any help would be amazing!

Question programing without any keys

I know the last reply in this thread was nearly two years ago, but I really want to figure this out, basically i bought a 2015 subaru brz a while back from an auction, it didnt come with any keys, i had two professional locksmiths come out to program a key to the vehicle, but no luck, but they never really mentioned anything about using techstream, with toyota techstream would i be able to program a key from a 2016 subaru legacy or another parts brz, any ideas would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Marq.

Tow it to Subaru and have new keys made. You don’t have much choice without a pair of already programmed keys.
