I don't think you're in the clear from my understanding. The printout suave has on this page is most likely the ECM recall, which doesn't address the DI issue.

I specifically asked for the ZA1JA01C calibration file mentioned on this thread when I got there. They told me that the file did exist but because my car wasn't within the vin range, I couldn't get it. The paperwork above is the result of that visit.

The lower part of the paper is just an emissions fix for the state of California. That particular update was done before I even purchased the car.

Ah I missed that, I thought the printout was for the calibration being discussed.

I never assumed I was in the clear, mostly I was posting that going to the dealer would likely be a waste of time for me.

Edit: Below suave confirmed below that those vin ranges are for the calibration being discussed, just adding a data point that the range is pre-Dec. 2012, likely back to October.

I assume they would not tell you the VIN range for that fix?

That is the one I posted above on the second page. The ones listed would qualify for the ZA1JA01C update.

It looks like their system is automated and they can't force an update if the VIN range isn't within the range of VINs affected.. It's going to take an official campaign for those with pre-FEB 13 VIN numbers to get the updated programming. Stupid large corporations.. They have their clumsy fool proof systems that aren't easy to work around..

Here is the paperwork I got today.

I've included the sheet where they list the vin numbers of the cars that are "defective" and mine is not in it.

My question is this: Has/Can anyone take a car outside of these vin numbers and check and see if those transient tables exist. I'm wondering if the fix was done quietly even BEFORE the African "TSB" came out as the vin numbers for Africa look completely different from what I got today.

For reference, as you can see in the documents, My build date is January 9th, 2013

I'm willing to give up my time if there is a vender/sponsor that wants to use my car for a day. Just don't have the money to pay for a tune or dyno time for a problem that could possibly already be fixed.

I'm outside the VIN range too.

Someone should check whether all cars that have had DI failures all fall within the "affected" VIN range:

- 1700031 - 1707728
- 2700032 - 2707727

@CSG Mike
others...?

Ours is a BRZ, but FWIW, we're not in that range.

In the note under the VIN range, it says the VIN is for the Special Service Campaign, which i'm assuming is the ECM coolant recall.

It just doesn't make sense there would be a "Campaign" for ZA1JA01C when haven't heard of any TSB or recall. I hope i'm wrong.

172XXXX VIN here, March 2013 Manufacture date. Pretty sure I'm in the clear, next time I'm in the dealer I'll get them to check the ECU version and write it down.

That's just the letter about the CEL flash (the one from last year.)

Hopefully the dealers will get a bulletin to flash the newest calibration on our 2012 cars, if not we need to know if there was a part number change somewhere on the engine, like say the heads.
