Definetly won't do that lol. I'm trying to reduce the nvh hence why removing Perrin for white line and stock T is what I'm going to try next.

Looking at em both I'd prefer Whiteline over the perrin... surface area it makes sense to go for whiteline... But I liked your comment on using both by enlarging the whiteline Bolt hole?
ps how do you thank a poster for there comment? ZC06 |

Great DIY. Did mine today. Took some close ups of the before and after for others to see what this kit accomplishes.
I love the feel. When going over a speedbump or in a low gear cruising the shifter isn't moving all over the place anymore. This is the same when pushing it hard. Just feels like the transmission is where you thought it was when shifting lol. Yes you do hear the transmission in a low gear going through a parking lot. Up to speed it does not feel to be any more noise or vibration. |

Any chance you could do without removing the front-pipe? I was in there doing the Perrin rear shift mount and it looks like there might be enough room to wiggle it out but not sure. I have an aftermarket front-pipe so maybe there's more open room around it.

i put mine in without removing the mount at all. you only need to remove the nut from the bolt that extends through the center of the bushing. use a jack to gently raise the transmission just enough to slide the bushing in. took me all of 10 minutes to install. there is a write up on it in one of these threads

I've got the STI one in hand now, I'll install and compare against the WL in spring for nvh etc...
Has anyone else compare the STI to other inserts??

First post - been lurking for a couple of weeks.
Thanks for the writeup. Was able to do this without removing the front pipe (though the rear pipe was out for an cat-back swap - prior to putting in the Innovate Blower this weekend). Helps to have access to a lift (LOL). Did the shifter bushing also while I was up there anyways (Kartboy on both). Learned a lot of great techniques in my lurkdom here. Will be uber-helpful in future mods. Rick |

WhiteLine Positive Shift Kit for the FR-S and BRZ
I installed this along with the Perrin T-bolt, I used a dremel and enlarged the hole on the whiteline piece so they would work together. The combined noise and vibration is ridiculous. You feel everything and now my dash vibrates as well. Sitting at the lights you press in the clutch some of the noise and vibration goes away. Let the clutch back out in neutral and all kinds of noise is detectable.
Yes the shifting is way more solid, but to the point like there is metal bushings. Any advice on this matter?? |
