Could be. But then it wouldn't make too much sense why my left one would all of the sudden start having issues a little over a year in. Plus it has continuous condensation, so if it sealed up now it would be in there for good.

I may take it in sometime soon, but Ive been saying that for months so we will see.

Design flaw

Damn, I really wish I could scrounge around the boot of one. Again, still need more facts and experimentation to figure out why this is happening or just do like everyone else and beef up the gasket.
Any gasket or sealant will eventually leak due to the design flaw .

Check out my condensation posts for the easy cheap permanent fix for ALL the tail lights for the twins.

My right tail light had the exact same thing, condensation. So I took it off, let it dry out with the bulbs out, put some extra padding around the light and put it back on 2,500miles later, no issues, no condensation at all.

Both of mine started to fog up today. I have less than 500 miles on the car... If it's still there on Monday then it's off to the dealership I go.

My right tail light also had condensation for 2 weeks. I brought it in for detailing yesterday and was surprised that the moisture was gone afterwards.

So this may not be good news for most people.

I brought my car to the dealer 2 weeks ago for this issue, they scheduled the appointment and ordered the part, I was told by the service rep that an updated taillight was out that fixed this issue as I had it replaced last year but the condensation came back.

So anyways, today I get a call 2 hours after bringing my car in that Subaru is no longer covering condensation problems in the taillights, they say it's normal operation. He also said this latest TSB from Subaru came out a few days ago, and he printed a copy of it for me to look at. So it sounds like Subaru isn't covering this anymore...

I recently got mine replaced, right side only.

If they're not covering this at some point.. then I guess we have to split open our own lights and put some thicker gaskets. (there's DIY on this)

Do you have "standing water" in your rear light lens? That is what I had in both. Can't imagine them saying that is "normal" like an interior glass condensation ROFL

They should offer a light defogger option on future cars if this is actually acceptable

Nothing major, I've had heavy condensation where the water drops were significant in size, but not large enough to drop and pool up in the bottom.

I still don't buy their excuse, my taillights keep moisture in them for several weeks before it disapears.
