Some thoughts:

Believing we are superior because we can think about thinking is just philosophical masturbation that will not give us the satisfaction of attaining the universal truths we seek.

Other animals are idiots who don't know it, we are smart enough to know we are idiots but we choose to lie to ourselves.

My personal belief is that we don't have the mental capacity to rationally understand our human mind or the ''human condition'' and it is futile to try.
Our pursuit of philosophical truths is no more attainable than a cockroach understanding god.

Those few that have developed a widely accepted explanation of the human condition are simply better writers than those that have not, their argument is not stronger, just verbosely and linguistically louder.

(End of my pessimistic philosophical rant, carry on).
