Not wanting to start a great debate here but these units flow a cirtain amount of air for a given rpm. Flow alot of air and you create boost pressure in the manifold. The maximum specified boost pressure or pressure ratio is 2.5bar ragardless of the size of the tvs unit.

The harrop car is proof of this. its running 13k rpms (max is 20k according to eaton) with a pressure ratio of 2.2 so its nearly running as much boost as max spec. Thats 320whp on pump. Run it at 2.5bar and youll see a bit more power ~350whp but thats it.

Of course you can try to spin the 1320 at 25k and see what happenes but the boost levels will be far beyond the working spec according to eaton so it'll be running very inefficiently. I'd love to see it though. The drive belts will need to changed to 8rib and the crank pulley will need to be made bigger to do it though.

Didn't think about that. You are probably right.

Have a question about the Edelbrock. On my car, I put on the nameless long tube headers, which actually physically touches the Edelbrock supercharger intake box.

Is there a modification or, am I able to use a different, perhaps a cone style, intake with the supercharger without hindering the air flow intake of the supercharger? in comparison with the intake provided by edelbrock?

Thanks!

Interesting. Even if it's a good work-around, I think it's still not ideal since you have a huge heat source right by your intake. Unless you put on some serious heat shielding, I think you'd be better off getting different headers.

Siiiiiick!!!
Thanks a lot for the photo!

my mechanic said he has already ordered a cone style intake, but I wanted to see if anyone had a similar setup already.

And air flow wise, you intake will match the one that edelbrock provided? do you know? Thanks!

Alrigth, yeah I think I'm gonna have them take off the headers so I Can wrap them. Wrap just arrived on friday. They said they either have to lift the engine several inches or remove the radiator fans in order to put in or take out the headers, is this correct in your experience?

In anycase, they gonna b!tch about it, but I'm wrapping those headers for sure, so too bad for them.

btw, these headers give u a massive kick of like 40-45/lb torque at around 4k rpm, in a naturally aspirated application, and there's no way the heat produced while at speed will take away those 45lb of torque. So the headers are very much well worth it. The only way it might get really hot is if u sit in traffic in hot weather for a long time, like maybe crossing the border from TJ to SD in the middle of summer.

I have the same issue for an upcoming install on my car. I spoke with Edelbrock and they said you can run another filter.

However, due to the fact that this was engineered as a system I don't want to sacrifice any synergy between components. I will be swapping out my Nameless for an Ace header. It's a tough and expensive choice, but that's how I'm going....I think...???

Oh okay, I"m picking up my car tomorrow, finally, just needs an alignment and then its getting tuned in the afternoon.

I'm going to go the cone intake route, and try it that way, to see what the dyno says.

I am still hoping the header will give more, because of the design, than it takes because of the heat.

But, in the not distant future, I am going to have to do a heat coating, plus wrap, and then sealant coat ontop of the wrap, to bring down the irridiant heat that it will give off, specially when idling. I think the headers will be a keeper.

I'll keep you guys updated!

looks good*, didn't have to decrease the pulley diameter to get those numbers?
