That's pretty much what happened on Saturdays drive. Eating before, during, and after. Starbucks, Alice's, then pastries at Pescadero. Mmm

Realistically, if people decide to go to Alice's after driving, like around 10am or something, the wait is what, probably 30 or so minutes longer to get tables and stuff?

Just seems to me that waiting to sit is pretty negligible if it means lighter traffic on the roads.

Making the start time/meetup time an hour or two earlier also would mean people from further distances might be less interested in going.

That's just me though (shrug)

Maybe just meet at Alice's, then drive the roads while it's quieter, and then just get pastries at Pescadero!

I wish I were more of a coffee drinker or something. I'm way too tired most days at work unless I get to work from home (and sleep in an extra 2 hours).

Of course caffeine doesn't even always wake me up so that's another problem.

Never been much of a coffee drinker either. I've noticed caffeine doesn't really have an affect on me. Even during college, when I needed the boost during those all nighters, no amount of coffee can keep me up.

Nowadays, I drink coffee for a whole nother reason 💩

Caffeine has always been super odd with me.

For instance, I'll have a strong coffee in the early afternoon (1 or 2pm-ish, for example), but then I'll feel sleepy all afternoon. Then when I decide to sleep much later at like 12am or something I finally, suddenly feel wide awake and jittery.

Or other times I'll drink some coffee or tea and suddenly feel very tired, but also super jittery at the same time.

For whatever reason, I never get the boring old benefit of caffeine just keeping me awake.

Back in physiology class, I vaguely remember going over the affects of caffeine to your adenosine receptors. In a nutshell: adenosine makes you drowsy, caffeine "blocks" your adenosine receptors temporarily.

The affect of this mechanism can vary by the individual. Also, caffeine tends to stay in your system for extended periods of time, so it doesn't surprise me if you don't feel its affects immediately but then be completely wide awake several hours later.

My buddy took his Golf R w/ 19k miles into the VW dealer for a 20k service before his upcoming road trip, and they're telling him that the insides of all 4 tires are worn down "a lot" and that he needs new tires and an alignment. They said this is likely due to a pothole causing a misalignment.

I just looked at his tires last Wednesday and they looked fine, they weren't even down to the wear bars or anything. I didn't look at the insides of the fronts though, but the rears looked fine.

I find it hard to believe that his tires would already need to be replaced after only 20k. They are 240 treadwear Continentals. Is this even possible? The dealership claims that he would be "lucky" to get 25k out of these tires. What is going on here?

Turns out I might've screwed up ordering my custom plate. My phrase was 6 characters, so there's an extra space at the end. I thought it'd be centered automatically but apparently I had to do the '/' at the end for it to be centered. Already placed the order about ten days ago.
