Yep, that would be a good plan.

Now, don't feel all bad, I reckon most of us have done that at least one time.

Now, that you got the front lip "broke in" here are a couple of other things about parking stops you should know to help prevent further damage.

* they are not all the same height

* some have pieces of re-bar that stick up above the concrete

* sometimes not every parking place has a stop (usually just the one where your parking .... while looking at the other spaces without stops)

* not all parking stops are lined up (the one in your spot will be closer)

* not all parking stops are perpendicular to the parking space lines (the closest side will be out of your vision)

DON'T ask me how I know these things ....

Do like I do. Back your car in.

Either way, if you're not careful, you will go too far. Always overestimate where that parking curb is. Better safe than sorry.

The second day i got my car, i scraped the hell out of the whole front bumper because i went over the curb, took me a week to get over and realise shit like this is always going to happen, and a new front bumper is a lot cheaper than constantly fixing just the underbody of he front lip

Thank for the advice guys. I guess I just need to get more familiar with the car. As for backing it in "like a boss" I mastered that already lol! I got those scratches from a quick stop to the store.

It's not a big deal since you have to be on the ground to see the scape, but I would clay bar to see how much yellow comes off then (LIGHTLY!) use rubbing compound for the rest. Afterwards, use thinned touch up paint from http://www.drcolorchip.com and depending how well apply it -nothing or a quick light wet sand. I say use thinned paint because if the stuff that came out of OEM touch up paint tubes were any thicker it'd be molasses.

I tried this on my Si and tC -worked great! (since contact with air causes paint chips on their crappy thin paint jobs).

There are two kinds of our cars out here in the world. One is the car that has scraped and the other is the car that will scrape, not only parking curbs but onto and off of driveways. As long as the damage is on the bottom and can't be easily seen I don't worry about it.

Clay bar and then Meguiars Scratch X will do the trick. Use decent pressure when using the Scratch X. Good luck!

J\k. I pull up shallow and I peek out a little and roll in closer. I am usually pretty far since I am not as high as I was in the wrx. I still park backwards far lol

My one year anniversary of owning my car was a couple weeks ago and I did the same thing while going out to eat. It's going to happen with cars like ours, I'm sure your natural paranoia will help keep you a safe distance from now on as mine has .

P.S. Are you missing a clip from under your bumper? Referring to the hole in pic #1, #2, #4...

Scratch X should clean that up a lot as well. I've scraped mine on rough uneven pavement and hit my garage (lightly) backing out. Scratch X cleaned up almost all of the marks.

The car is about 1-2ft shorter than most of the cars out there. Use them as a reference next time. If a 4 door is next to you always just pull up to where your mirror is next to the middle of their doors. That should leave you a lot of space. I think it's better to look dumb getting out of your car to check than to have scuff marks from curbing your front bumper.
