Scion FT-86 FR-S

This is coming third party, but at yesterday's Toyota Dealer Meeting in Vegas they confirmed that the FT86 was for sure going to be released as a Scion.

Debadging it and place with Toyota JDM Badge. I used to do that to my old RX300.
However, A Scion that costs 23K up is very retarded.

Edit: Let's just get Subaru to get out of this stupid idea.

I call bs. Becase ft86 is not the production name.. I am betting your source heard that scion might bring out a rwd hatch... There is a Toyota yaris or echo being developed with a rwd setup, story is on this site somewhere. Can't beleive ppl still post such bs all the time

As an active Scion owner, I don't see RWD and a pricetag of over $20k fitting into their marketing plan. Scions are entry level cars and IMO are good for learning to actually "drive" on. Especially the tC.

I hate to admit it but as much as I like all the guys and gals I've met at the events and in clubs a lot of them would kill themselves quickly in a car like the ft86. And most of the owners do dumb stuff to their cars anyway IMO. I'd hate to see that happen.

+1000

Come on guys, Toyota might have gotten a little sloppy recently, but they aren't dumb.

I cant imagine going to a Scion Dealership and seeing this...

Parked next to this..

I think this will upset scion sales and Toyota sales in general.

There were two sources that went to the Toyota National Dealer meeting in Vegas this week and on Wednesday they showed them the new 2012 Camry along with the FT86. They did not have the FT86 there; they just watched a video on a huge screen explaining the marketing, engineering, and design of the FT86 and they said that it was being released as a Scion at about $25,000.

It would seem more likely that Scion would get the GRMN hot hatch that is being developed. Lightweight, RWD, and supposedly being around the $16,000 mark.Sounds more like a Scion than the '86 to me.
