I think saying, "No way you have made it through the session" is a bit much. I ran 285 without issues. Other people here have seen 300. The Mobil 1 engineers say it's not an issue. But that's a discussion for other thread, I guess.
I'm going to send my 0-20 in for analysis after 8 track days and some high temps. Blackstone is still the one to go to for that, right?
Sorry to resurrect a thread from last month. @Pat did you ever get the results back? Were you running a cooler for your 0w20? What temperatures do you see?

I am running 5w30 in my BRZ with the powertrain and cooling completely stock, switching out the oil every other track day or so. Ambient temp rarely exceeds 80F in the PNW.

Yes, I got the results back. I was not running an oil cooler on with the oil that was analyzed. The report said it was in good condition. Slightly better than average, in fact. They recommended I go 9,000 miles on my next oil change. I regularly saw 270s on track. Keep in mind tracks here are at 5,000 feet above sea level so the car may not make as much power, and therefore heat, as where you are. But the thinner air is also not as effective in cooling the radiators.
The car now has 100+ track days on it with 87,000 miles. No issues with the engine. It makes a couple more HP than some other stock 86s on the same dyno. No smoke or any other obvious bad things.

In order to improve cooling performance I intend to run a second oil cooler in addition to this dual radiator (turbocharged BRZ). Is there a technical reason why this would not work?

You will be asking too much from your oil pump. I would highly recommend against this. Maybe someone can chime in with a bit more technical detail.

Also, why would you need 2 coolers? Are you driving in first gear, low speed at over 7k rpm constantly? I just dont see a need for this....

Well, it's just getting too hot, despite running the engine pretty rich.
It's autocross/hillclimb like racing with constant full throttle or full braking.

An alternative would also be to install a second oil cooler in parallel (this wouldn't cause an additional pressure drop), but the piping would be more difficult (would need 2 additional T-connections - not sure whether those would be readily available).

Also, since I have an AVO kit I could also install an oil cooler in the return line of the turbocharger (which has its own pump). Probably not particularly effective but since it would at least increase the oil capacity this may be sufficient to keep the engine temperatures at bay, since one run never lasts longer than 3 minutes and 30 seconds.

You could try the forester xt cooler paired with an air to oil cooler. That might help. Or just add venting to the hood and a normal larger oil cooler

Thanks. The safest bet would probably just be to use a larger radiator and a large oil cooler. (I've installed the beatrush alumnium underpanel with vents, but this didn't really help much.)

I may have missed this while trying to read through all 10 pages, but if this is used with a JR SC kit, does that eliminate the need for the smaller oil cooler included with the kit?

No that cooler I believe is for the rotrex unit. By default the kits do not come with engine oil coolers unless you buy it used and someone includes it with the package.

Hiya everybody!

I recently ordered this from CSG, and I love it! However, I got to one of the last steps where I install the airbox back into the car. I ran into a problem where the AN fitting that's welded to the top of the radiator, when looking at it straight down from the front of the car, is angled about 20 degrees to the left. It's preventing the OEM airbox from sitting where it needs to to install it back in the car. If it had been welded perpendicular to the radiator, I believe there'd be enough clearance for the box to fit right. I don't know if this fitting is just welded incorrectly, or if I'm missing something. What does this fitting look like on other's radiators?

sit rep:

jackson racing dual cooler installed late 2019.

Have done about 6 track days here in SoCal - 5 of them 90+ degree weather.

oil temps were holding pretty steady at 210-220 and water at 200-205.

using mobil1 0w-20

Late than never, we did what was suggested and put small oil to air coolers on the turbo return lines. (Small transmission coolers.) This was the hottest oil in the system. Therefor the greatest delta T for air exchange. It only helped a little but at that point we were looking for anything. Have since increased the radiator size fan size and scoops for the oil coolers, and we do have two in a row but we have a dry sump..
