How did you do that? Seems like you are going to get a lot of strain on the outer fasteners at high speeds. Did you just completely skip that fastener deep inside the wheel well?

It's possible to do so, but it's a PITA.

i did it without taking the wheels off. For the front, if you want to drill the holes, just turn the wheels all the way left/right to gain access to that spot. For the back, if you want to drill the holes, yes you need to take the wheels off.

I did it all without actually drilling. I just installed the screws/pushpins that had precut holes and then used some 3M double sided mounting adhesive where it would have been drilled. It's been holding strong for around a month now

It should be drilled to attach the last tab for tightness and mainly to prevent it from moving and etching the paint. After months of temp changes, moisture winter tape would break down.

Thanks for posting. I went a different route:
  1. Ordered online from a forum sponsor.
  2. Put in trunk of car and drove to dealer for first Scion Boost service.
  3. Mentioned "hey I got these but we never got them installed can you do it when you rotate the tires?"
  4. Drive off later with them installed.
