I'm actually quite impressed with how well this car drives in the snow. If you weren't on snow tires that would explain things. :-)

Regarding rub, no, but you are noticeably outside the fender with that setup. You would need some camber or drop (which will give you a little camber) unless you want the mexiflush look.

We are talking about 5mm. :-)

The 30 is a 'better' choice.

How accurate is the recommended size from tire rack for a wheel? Looking to getting Enkei Kojin offset +45. Should I get 18x8 or 18x8.5 (does the extra .5 matter in anything?)

I plan on lowering 1" with Eibach Pro Kit Lowering Springs when I purchase the wheels. What tires will fit best and will this setup present any problems like rubbing? Im a complete noob when it comes to modding a car so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I'm looking at getting some Forgestar 19x8.5 wheels with 235/35/19 tires for my ride. I won't do staggered, as I like to rotate my tires and dont want to go any heavier or wider than necessary to achieve the look I'm going for.

Given DarrenDriven's below table, I"ll need a rear 10mm spacer assembly to make the front and rear both flush with an appropriate offset. If I were only lowering the car 1", this would be simple, but I want to lower the fender just to the tops of the tires (2.5" ?). I've tried tools like the FRS Project Tire Calculator, but they don't account for the changing offset as the car lowers.

So my question is...what's the perfect offset for as close to "flush" front 19x8.5 wheel with the fender lowered just to the top of a 235/35/19 tire, with 0 rear camber and less than 2° neg front camber, without rubbing?

215/45/17 - Tire Diameter (mm) 625.30
235/35/19 - Tire Diameter (mm) 647.10

WHEEL |-- STOCK HEIGHT --| |-- LOWERED 1" --| |-- LOWERED 2.5" ?--|
WIDTH |-- FRONT REAR ----| |-- FRONT REAR --| |-- FRONT REAR --|
8.5 --- |--- +44 -- +37 -----| |--- +42 -- +32 ---| |--- +? -- +? --|

Thank you in advance.

yea i had summer tires when i was in the snow. not fun.

i know its not most peoples taste. but i actually like the mexiflush look...

so i can run 17x8 or 17x8.25 with a 30 offset and 235/50/17? no camber and no drop. no rub? is that correct?

i might add camber i just dont want to have to add camber.

Tirerack is pretty accurate for tire and wheel sizing, great resource.

What are your goals for modding?

Looks, grip, track, autox, stance, power mods?

If you are just looking to change out to nicer wheels and to a better tire, then I would suggest sticking to an 8" wheel and go to a 225/40R18. This will be a nice upgrade especially with the Eibachs.

I would stick to a 225/35R19 or a 235/30R19. Both those sizes work well with a 8.5" wheel and are pretty damn close to factory diameter.

Not sure about spacers or offset as you didn't state what offset was available for your wheels, but you probably with need an extra 5mm on the back compared to the fronts since you will have a substantial drop. Off the top, probably +35 offset where you would want to start. See my pics further up on this page for reference.

Since you stated that you want 0 camber on the rear, you will need adjustable LCA's to pull back the camber from the drop, otherwise I would estimate about -3 camber without LCA's.

Anyone have advice as to how much poke/camber I would need to fit a 17x10 +20 in the rear. Not looking to stretch the tire off the lip of the wheel but not looking for meaty tires either. Any and all help would be appreciated!

This is from the wheel fitment thread.

Is this a linear correlation? As in, if I lower my car 1.5" will I then need to adjust offset in the front by 3mm and the rear by 7.5mm? Or is this a logarithmic/exponential correlation? In short I am planning on installing 17x9" with 245/40r17 on all four tires and plan on lowering the car 1.2-1.4" with the H&R Super Sport Springs. And was trying to figure out offset and if I will be able to sufficiently fix camber issues with camber bolts.

I just bought a new set of wheels and I am deciding on what tire selection I want. My wheel setup is 18x9.5 +45 square (on coilovers) and from what I read, people seem to run 255/35-18 or 245/35-18. I used the tire size calculator and the 245's fit a little closer to stock than the 255's. For brand I was going to get the Michelin Pilot super sports.

I'm thinking of getting 17x9 rota grid +30 squared with Eibach Prokit. Will I rub with 225's or 235's.

Thanks

No rubs, but the wheels will poke a bit, especially in front.

You may need negative camber in front, but to me that's just a no-brainer.
