2019 BRZ Making “chick” noise shifting 1st to 2nd

Hey everyone, new to the forum and a new Subaru owner. I have a 2019 BRZ Raiu edition, when I’m shifting 1st to 2nd I can faintly hear a “chick” noise almost seems to be under the car when I’m shifting only in that gear. If I’m listening to music in the car I don’t hear it at all, only when it’s quiet in the car. I’ve read a lot about how these cars 1st to 2nd is kinda wonky but since it’s my first Subaru and the car is brand new (7000km) I wouldn’t mind getting some opinions on what the noise is? I’m bringing it to the dealer next week to have them listen to it to see if they can figure out what it is.

Thanks! Cheers

This car makes all kinds of noises. Mine shifts with a loud thunk cause of all the bushings and inserts and I can hear every single coupling/de-coupling clank and click and chick and whine. Sounds like someone is stacking pallets under the car. Totally normal, worry not

My '13 FRS made a bunch of weird noises. When I upgraded to a '17 BRZ, it still made weird noises. I decided not to worry about it unless it sounded truly bad lol. I kinda like it too.

It's likely nothing.

Tip: Brand new car, huge warranty, just drive the thing. If something feels bad then take it in, else if it drives normal just enjoy.

Don't put the car on a pedestal, it will slowly ruin your experience.

I think your tranny 'whine' is related to its protests that it's stuck under a Lava body..

my car 'chicks' in 1-2, like gently putting keys onto a table. this car did it from day one, as well as the one before it. it's to remind you that you're driving a stick. turn the radio up, and drive it!
