Or even a sub forum.
I'll be back in Daytona at the end of August. I hope I can catch the races.

Nice build! My parents bought me an RTR tamiya kit. It came with hot lava paint, not a big fan of it, was thinking of painting it red. Is it easier just to get a new body and paint it than removing the hot lava paint and repaint it red?

Thanks @pinoy_dorifto
Painting is easy. Paint removal is damn near impossible if good paint was used. Guess what, Tamiya PS paint is good paint. The other side of this...nothing is pre-made. You have a sticker sheet that you have to sit down with a scissors and cut out. It takes a solid hour or two to do what you see in the pics below, not including the extra blue parts. You will also have to cut the body from the pull. I have made friends with my dremel for this. I don't find it too hard, just take your time. You will be looking at about $55-$65 shipped for all of the associated paints and body of course, depending on how detailed you want to go. Sent from my mind using telepathy.

Tamiya provides inner light housings with all their bodies. They are just that though, housings. They have to be modified to be used as light buckets.
I tried 2WD before. You need a combination of the perfect tires for a perfect surface. You also need the right alignment settings. Just disconnecting the front won't even let you drive straight. Clear Smoke 1 Smoke 2 Smoke touch ups then Layer 1 of Gun Metal I started feeling light headed so I made this. *IT looked much better in person, trust me. The protective film is still on which is why it looks matte. You can see how much the smoke helped. The protective film is still on which is why it looks matte. You can see how much the smoke helped. The headlights are different colors and this really bothers me. At least it isn't as bad as the light cutoff line. Sent from my mind using telepathy.

I exposed two wires, forgot about them, then tried to power the lights. I ended up melting all but the rear portion of my wiring. I salvaged all three tail lights. I'm dumping the front. I'm not sure if it is an inconsistency in the bulbs or if wire length had an effect, but the colors were too different. Even the bulbs on the same resistor with the same wire length had different colors, which leads me to believe that it is indeed the bulbs. This gives me an excuse to redo the setup. I think it was honestly kind of sloppy, plus the colors where killing me.
I might just redo the entire thing for fun. Except I'll be ordering LEDs from SuperBrightLEDs instead of getting them from the Shack.

Side markers: 1 layer chrome, 3 layers black, 1 layer matte clear
Then there is Elmers Glue...for those moments when you can't find a way to mess stuff up. I just noticed that it seeped through my paint from the inside and left cloudy spots around the headlights and taillights on the outside. Elmers is a water based paint so I hope it clears up by the morning. Otherwise, I'll probably have to do this all over again in the future. I did spray the bumper valence (whatever it's called) and I applied a layer of smoke on the windows to give them a tint. Sent from my mind using telepathy.
