Comcast and many other VOIP services allow you to sign up for "Nomorobo" It's free and works great. If it rings once only, that means they blocked it.

Well, we have caller ID (it even pops up on the TV screen). So, we don't answer the calls that we don't recognize the number. However, the robots targeting this area just don't get it and keep calling..

So I get a squeaky noise when I start the car after sitting in wet weather but the noise goes away after a few mins. Is there somewhere I need to tighten on some belt pulley thing?

Just don't start it in the rain.. cheap fix, but works I'm sure.

If you switch to one of the VOIP options you can set Do Not Disturb and the phone won't ring, straight to voicemail.

Thanks. I'm gonna look into that just after I transport the pre-teen granddaughters to school. And after I try to get the trash compactor un-jammed - the toddler put something in it and hit the "compact" button -

Hopefully it wasn't the dog, or the toddler's sibling!

It's all clear now. I did the Bubba trick to fix it. That would be to sit on the floor on front of it and kick it firmly with both feet while mrs humfrz punches the "compact" button.

I was feeling slightly better Saturday and sucked it up and went to the party. OMG, what a party. They rented out the entire Monterey Bay aquarium. Open bar, high end wines, fantastic horderves, then a "walking dinner". As you walked around the aquarium, there were dining tables everywhere and about 8 different food stations, each different. One was prime rib and fixings, the next thousands of pieces of every kind of sushi imaginable, next one rack of lamb, next one salmon and halibut done up a couple different ways, and so on... Then, an entire room of desserts. I have never seen a spread like this. Live band, dancing, and a champagne toast after the CEO makes his speech. I can't imagine what that party cost. Here is a pic of the rack of lamb station.
