Is anyone using PBM rear lower control arms? Is trimming the subframe really necessary?

It's not necessary, but I trimmed mine to make adjusting much easier!

Cheers!

Not necessary, but its a pain in the ass.

I'm probably going to get different LCA's for this reason honestly.

Not to mention im not to happy with the durability of the powdercoat they use. I've put barely put 10k on my car since i installed the PBM ones and they coating is already destroyed and they are looking rusty.

That sucks.. I was hoping they would be better, but I guess that's why they're cheaper than most.

Any recommendations? I've heard good things about Stance.

I don't think theyre going to fail. They are really solid pieces, im just a little turned off by the coating flaking off.

Ill probably go with Stance or Voodoo 13

Stance is the same. I just slightly notched the subframe to allow for easier access for adjusting. However after two harsh Oklahoma winters and plenty of abuse, I can confirm they held up great and with a quick cleaning, still looked new when I parted the car out.

I think pretty much every LCA that uses a turnbuckle type of adjuster will warrant subframe notching for easier access. You can get away with not doing it, but adjusting is more time consuming.

How many of you have broken axles? I'm reasonably low, make about 300whp, and heading to my first drift event this weekend.

You'll probably be fine. Though, I would recommend getting a spare axle to have just in case as soon as you can. The low ride height and higher power doesn't help, but at least you aren't running big wheels with wide, grippy tires.

A lot of factors, all comes down to how hard you shock the driveline.

I make about 400whp and drift on the stock axles, generally run 215/45/17 Westlake SA-07's, have two seasons on these so far.

I have broken 1 axle, but it wasn't drifting, it was a hard launch at a drag strip.
