opening 2017 brz foglight assembly

So i have a 2017 and know that the fog lights are an all in 1 assembly. Is there any way i can open this up and replace the bulb with something that is brighter and has a wider beam? now that it is getting darker earlier i forgot how trash the fog lights are vs my tdi in seeing the sides of back roads. it looks like im going to have to replace the whole thing, but then the issue is the 3 screw mounting and it looks like the 13-16 options are 4 screws

Bulbs do not affect pattern. (Same for same)
The lens and reflector in the housing do that.

Go LED bulb maybe.

Just do it properly and buy replacement housings. You won't get a proper beam pattern any other way that won't also blind oncoming traffic. Check out my post:

The 2017 is led already. Maybe you need to raise them up some? Mine are plenty bright and wider than the headlights already.

Just realized that you already have LED.

Like shans said, maybe just need to aim them, other than that only other option would be to replace the lights themselves.

If they are LED I don't think there may be a way to replace the LED's in the factory housing with better ones.

i think im going to test to make sure they are aimed correctly tonight with a friend. ive thought about getting a 4 bolt (the old style) and zip tieing them in or making a new bracket out of sheet metal. i feel like they are aimed too far in the center or maybe my headlights are just aimed too low and im not seeing them

Mine were aimed low from the dealer. I raised them up some and it’s made a difference. It is a pain to get to the adjuster though.

Not sure what the official aiming should be but I have mine almost level or straight out.

My go to is measure how much lower they are to the headlights and aim them that amount lower.

The LED ones I have in my 2015 I aimed by ensuring that the cutoff height was just a bit lower than the actual height, so that I knew they were aimed slightly down. I drive with them on whenever my headlights are on, and have NEVER been flashed by anyone.
