Then again...maybe someone with good PhotoShop skills could replace the plastic cladding with sheet metal for us?
They put that crap there because the whole car is 4-5 inches too tall. This results in a lot of "blank canvas" so to speak. So they have to fill that space with something otherwise it just accentuates the largeness. I just wish they hadn't done that with something so ridiculously fake. (and you can imagine how horrible it will look 5-6 years from now after the plastic has faded.) Also wish that Honda designer had been more honest when claiming that every vent is functional.

(also, wouldn't have killed them to make the front vents semi functional; even something as basic as brake cooling ducts would have sufficed. As for the rear...well nobody honestly believes there are any heat exchangers back there so beats me).

Haha I love how goofy this thing is. I would buy it. I trust Honda to make a more engaging and reliable car than Ford and Subaru.

The car will still sell regardless because it's an Honda, stealership are already asking 10K over MSRP.

I think that's just standard practice with hyped cars. Ford dealerships marked up the Focus RS before it was released, and now 6 months later they've only sold 3500 of them. At this rate the first year sales will be well below 10,000 units.

With the CTR, given the (1) high price point, (2) FWD layout and (3) reportedly punishing suspension, I doubt it'll be a high volume car in the US.

I'm really surprised by this. I knew the car didn't have stellar reviews, but I figured the car would be selling better than that. I have already seen several on the road. I guess people don't like the idea of spending 35k on a Focus, even if it is AWD.

Are they starting to offer slight discounts on the car?

I know you can get them at MSRP now but haven't heard of dealers offering discounts.

That's true, because those NSXs and S2000s really flew off the shelf!

(after being on sale for more than 2 years)

Top trim models almost never outsell base models.

Ford sells <10% of Focii and Fiestas in 'Hot Hatch' trim.

https://media.ford.com/content/fordm...1-percent.html

http://www.carbuzz.com/news/2016/11/...ccess-7736562/

Since then they're claiming ~500/month, right around 5% of all Focus' sold, give or take. That will certainly drop about a year from now once the buzz has died down.

I get that, but I see a shit ton of Focus ST and Fiesta ST on the road. They seem very popular around here.

Honda's marketing arm is notoriously controlling, so you probably will not see reviews roll in until close to when production orders are being filled.
