I've only had the car for 9 weeks and the first 2 to 3 weeks I've experienced problems going into 1st or 2nd a few times but I just put it back to neutral and step on the clutch again and the shifter will go into the gate. By the 2nd month this problem completely went away and the tranny is much smoother. I still think this clutch has no feel tho, trying my best to get used to it.

2nd session at the track and suddenly I have 4th gear synchro issues. It's a gentle grind/crunch so far.

Brand new Amsoil fluid, knob, short shifter, gearbox bushings, shifter springs, and clutch pedal adjustment

Put the clutch pedal back to stock height, hopefully today's sessions are better

Sorry to say but that's how mine started. Then proceeded to change the fluid and found the synchro ball on the magnet. These trannys are shit

I get a slight 2nd gear crunch at 14k miles. But that's ONLY if the car is cold. I have a feeling that if I replace the transmission oil, I will cure the problem - for me atleast.

These are the fluids you will want to look into:

-Amsoil Manual Synchromesh 75x90
-Motul Gear 300
-Redline 75w-90NS

Look into which one is right for you

I hope this car doesnt start coming off as a shit bucket because of mistreatment, whether unknowingly or not.
i agree here why would any one downshift into first from second while the car is still in motion

I do this at autoX somewhat often. From 3rd shoved back into 2nd is a lot more common. But literally sometimes a jam it into 1st and drop the clutch to really bind and rotate the rear end in a low speed situation. No I'll effects yet. 55k miles on the car also.

I test drove a 2013 FR-S stock 3000 miles....The shifting Felt the same as my 2013 FR-S with 25k miles.... So maybe since it never drops below 30 F except for once in a blue moon in winter i should change the fluids to something else after some further research...

Is this still an issue? I'm looking at a 2014 model and it seems like there's less of these synchro and grinding posts, but it still has me worried

Yes if you take off cold you might have resistance going into 1 or 2 until the tranny fluid warms up. Nothing has changed in this regard and its not defective, just quirky.
