That’s not the point I was trying to make. Would 5 mph be safer than 35? 75 less safe? Well yeah of course. What is society without any limits though? You have to set some standards to keep people from killing each other. More than usual.

Max speed limit is 70 mph on Florida Interstates, 70 mph will get you run over in Florida where the average speed is easily 80, 90, 100 mph depending on location.

Combine that with crappy roads, overcrowding, tourists, snowbirds and you'll see why Florida has some of the highest car insurance rates in the country.
