I used Royal Purple for my Evo before. Didn't seem to have any problems. That being said, I'm going to try out ENEOS now. I used it once before for my xB and liked it, but it was impossible to find at the time. I just found out a couple days ago NAPA Auto Parts just became an authorized dealer for ENEOS. I just picked up a case from my local store like 20 minutes ago. Pretty sweet to know I can get it easily now.

I've been running RP 0w20 for the past 500 miles now. Guess what? I lost the crickets. Go figure. It's either the oil or the fact that LA is now running the winter reserve gas. Which has less oxygen in it, AFIK. Something to do with summer gas being less polluting with more oxygen in the gas.
It's my first time I've ever run RP in anything I've owned, but so far it's doing one helluva job. I've pretty much decided to try all sorts of different oils in my car just for the heck of it. Maybe if I'm not too lazy I'll send the stuff off to Blackrock and see what they say. IMHO, I think the oil companies have got us all under their jedi mind trick. If the oil meets the specs then it should do the job. Just because you got better oil, will it protect more for the same abuse??? Only time will tell I guess. I might pick up some more RP with that Pepboy coupon, then again I might not. But I've deicded to to run Mobil 1 soon after.

I'v run RP 5W-20 in my RX8 for 8 years with no issues what so ever and I have gotten better mileage than most 8 owners ~17 city/24 hwy. I've been to their manufacturing facility here in Houston and I was very impressed with what I saw. Their lead engineer use to race RX3's back in the day and is very familiar with Rotaries and racing in general. I intend to run RP in my FR-S and my CX-5 once its time to change the oil.
I have nothing against Redline or Amsoil, both are also fine products. I support RP cuz they are local and their racing heritage but you can't go wrong with either of the three. |

I've got a 2001 Saturn SC1 that I got with 50K miles on it, it now has 280K miles on it and I've been running Wal-Mart full synthetic oil (Super Tech) since I got it and I have had zero problems. It meets current SN and ISLAC GF-5 requirements and SM, SN and ISLAC GF-4 as well.
I'm sure you can have labs analyze your oil and all that, but if the oil you use meets the manufacturers required specs. I certainly wouldn't worry myself to death about it or spend $10 bucks a quart (or more) for something else and that's just my opinion, nothing more. |

To say its not a good oil when their are far worse out there. You can say that about a lot of oils. RP will be fine for your car just dont expect too much out of it. Its just oil. In its class its fine but nothing compared to for example Motul. |

Yeah, I found out they became an authorized dealer when I went on the ENEOS site to find one. Was 8.99 a quart. 1 case is 6 quarts. Not rebranded. Has ENEOS written all over it. even had that copyright for the bottle design by Yamaha.
