Haven't read the whole thread, but I feel very sorry for the owner.

If the person responsible for torching his car doesn't have adequate insurance and the owner is left in the lurch, I'm happy to throw some money into a pot to help him out. There are enough members on this forum to make a significant difference.

You reap what you sow in this world. No, I'm not referring to the OP.

Very honorable. OP stated his insurance is covering the cost of the car itself, so that's not a complete loss. I believe the only question lies in the aftermarket investments made. I'm sure if the fault ends up being either shop in question, their insurance will cover the remainder. At least the story has a semi happy ending and the OP isn't screwed.

On a side note, does anyone else find it odd that @brzturbo's car had a supercharger on it? Jedi mind trick.

He was initially going to go with Don's turbo, but decided to go Vortech.

First, there were 3 of us. 2 from visconti myself and one other, and gmookher (if only he were here for this thread... it would be internet gold). Gm had his ECU bricked by Perrin. It was not a tuner fault, but rather an issue with the mother ship ECUTEK. They reimbursed JV for the freight to get our ECU, and rentals because they wanted to see what went wrong. My ECU was the first to london and back. I even wrote a writeup on the removal, and broke the cable to my ECU in the process. The clips on the plugs are rather brittle.

So, it's not really like he was shelling out $$ to be the hero.
