STI is good for family car. The BRZ is too small for kids and stuff..

Ditch both cars and buy new STI.
Sounds like 2 cars aren't really a necessity for you at all.

Sell both and get a new Golf R 5-door hatch (6-spd). Fast, practical, and refined. A stage 1 APR tune puts it at 323whp/360wtq.
If out of your price range, get a used STI hatch. I used to own one and it was a good all-rounder.

In my opinion, and strictly my opinion, you should trade both and get the STI. You don't need two cars it looks like. Go for the new and the better!

Also need a wagon. Hauling music gear, or large items etc. Now if they made a new WRX Wagon, I could consider that. You don't. :P That said, its just a thread and I value others' opinions. Maybe someone had an STi and can comment on the pros/cons compared to the BRZ first hand. Its nice to make an informed decision and "polling the forum" is a good "2nd opinion". I still love the BRZ, but some aspects of the car do not fit my needs. At the same time I can't think of another car that offers the same connection between driver and car - at least not in this price range. |

Yep, trade in the BRZ and WRX. However, I would get a brand new STi instead of an old one. Treat yourself.

IMO WRX > STI in 2015.

Since you have both and if you REALLY want the STi, then I suggest you wait until they come out with a new engine. Now that Focus RS, Golf R, and possibly Civic Type R with same or more horsepower figures, it will force Subaru to increase the power figures on it I think. Keep your two cars for little longer if you can and trade both in for the new STi when it comes out . I used to own 13' STi sedan and honestly I miss it despite having a shitty gas mileage. It just had more room and was comfortable for daily driving. Plus you have that turbo and awd.

Have you driven the 2015 STI? I would do what the poster above mentioned, wait for the Focus RS and then cross-shop. Hopefully the STI will get the new engine by then as well.

I owned a 05 STI for better than 5 years when I purchased my brz. Found myself in love with the brz's handling and the entire driving experience. So I sold the STI. However I would love to have that sti back on days when I am lined up next to a camaro/mustang. They may be made from the same company but they are completely different cars.

Just get the normal sti, upgrade to a bigger turbo, headers, ecu and it's going to run quicker than the stock sti and you've probably paid less for it as well.
http://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars...ru-wrx-vs-sti/ But your 7k miles in three years implies to me you're not much of a driving enthusiast but just has the money to throw on the newest fad. Now that three years has past and everyone and their mother has a twin you want to switch to the next fad. An "STI." So thus i say do it, just get the sti. Hell the next civic si is listed to run about 300hp along with the awd speed 3. As long as your happy. |
