What classifies as an exotic? I would think most Aston Martin' would be decent to own and drive everyday.

I would also love the 997 GT3 RS in orange and white.
and my fall back one true love is the R8 V10, which is also more... streetable than a super whimadime ferrari.

Too "nice"! Getting into the spirit of things... I'll go with Aventador SVJ in one of the sik-ass green shades:

My brz is an exotic. So yes. For me, 'exotic' is something that everything still works!

Richest guy I've known got himself a Corvette many years ago. A C5 I believe. I'm pretty sure he's either gotten rid of it since or just has it stored somewhere away from his main house. Meanwhile he and his wife drive raised Jeeps 99% of the time. He has a dualie diesel pickup that he uses some and an H3 I haven't seen him drive in ages. So no exotic for him. The C5 was all he did, at least since I've known him, and I haven't seen it for years. Oh, he did buy a Hummer firetruck, but that's for the property and probably isn't street legal.

All the modern super cars are lame IMO.
It's dumb. I guess they are following the trajectory of the early Carrera RS's, which is dumb in its own right. I used to own a matching #'s 73 911S 2.4 (not quite an RS), bought it back in 2000 for about 18K, and people back then thought I paid too much lol.

I don't get the obsession with older Porsches. I'd rather have a new one. Much faster, much more comfortable, and much more thrilling.

Kinda sorta. More thrilling is a personal preference thing I think. Based on g-forces, absolutely. The older Porsches are more of an 'event'. The newer Porsches are, like you said, much more refined and comfortable, but that swings them more toward something like a BMW vs. a truly unique experience. I miss my old 911 because it was unrefined. My wife called it 'the lawnmower' It was loud, quirky, smelled like gas & oil, redlined at 7300 rpm (a lot for 1973), and I loved all of it. But, I would NEVER pay 100k+ for one, which is what a decent 2.4 911S goes for these days. If I still had mine, I'd probably sell it and renovate my entire house lol. i do miss it though....
