Subaru FT86 still not have the green light!

According to Subaru Australia managing director Nick Senior they are still undecided on its release (at least in Australia)!

Brisbane Times

So the decision of Subaru v Toyota may not be a decision for some! I wonder what other regions this applies to?

Thanks for sharing the article ft86cbx, hopefully Nick and the Subaru team will bring the 86 down to Australia, the more options the better!

On NASIOC, SOA has confirmed that a car will eventually get finished and sold in America, I'm 99% sure.

... So I think this title is quite misleading, and you're just looking for attention.
The car is definitely in development and will definitely be made and released in some regions, saying the project does not have a green light is false.

Nevertheless, sucks for Aussies if they do miss out on the Subaru version.

WTF?? Get over it. I posted a valid link to an article discussing the FT86 with a Subaru spokesperson.

No shit! Of cours the car will be made and released in some regions! Read what I wrote again. Nothing misleading. FACT. The Subaru version does not have a green light in Australia according to this article. IMO it will go ahead, but thats just my opinion and has no bearing on anything.

I read what you wrote and feel the thread title is inappropriate.

I still feel that way.

Sorry I'm not in the best mood right now.

3rd quarter this year sounds sort of late to make a decision like this.

+1 either they are really slow-playing this or its not looking good for the Subie version to come out alongside the Scion/Toyota.

Not surprised. Subaru of Australia has said all along they don't want to ruin their "All AWD" marketing with a RWD vehicle.

I doubt the Australian market is large enough to support a Toyota and a Subaru version. It makes sense for them to sell just one down there.

Can you post any links or any details since SOA seems to be tight-lipped.

Seriously, recently both Toyota & Subaru got so tight-lipped. I'm having hard time getting more info! I feel that, it's gonna be that way til Dec...

Since the earthquake and tsunami, Japan doesn't have enough electricity and factories are running at night and weekends to comply with electrical use restrictions. All the automakers are struggling to meet production, but realistically Japan is in deep dodo. The new models will probably be delayed.

Keep in mind that there are also financial problems.

Don't shoot!!! I'm only the messenger.
