And some change may stem from overall increased rigidity of car body of MY2017. That won't be retrofitable unlike shocks/springs/swaybars though.

That's correct, the 13-16 cars had a 14mm rear bar. The 17+ is now a 15mm rear bar.

I did exactly the same thing but with my '13 brz rears, and I'm digging it so far. I didn't want to source a 15mm brz bar when I got my PP setup because I plan on getting the mild pair of Perrin sway bars at some point. Thus, I retained my stiffer '13 rears...for now anyway. I may change it up depending on how I feel it performs as the year progresses.

It's a great combo in my opinion.
I had gone through the gauntlet of different coilovers with my Miata for years and then the first six months owning my FR-S. Nothing I tried had the right compromise I was after. Overall the PP damper setup works well for me in track work. I will try them at autox when my season starts in April. I hardly get a sense with the springs and bars I have that the car is overly soft or has much difficulty coping with my 200tw Falkens.

Also, I'd definitely recommend the Perrin 22mm front bar. It has a great range of spring rate(324~448lb/in). For the rear I wouldn't install anything heavier than a 16mm bar. I had a 19mm Perrin and it made the rear end more choppy and steady state power application was a challenge. The 16mm bar IMO offers a better balance for the car with this shock/spring setup.

Yeah, I’ll be getting the 16r and 18f. I don’t need anymore than that. I’ve gone the huge SB route before with my previous car and it wasn’t what I’d consider ideal.
