As for what makes it better? Better welds, QA process, and all the extras. Most people view exhausts as a bunch of metal tubes (see discussions on cheap headers vs quality headers), some view it as art pieces.

A bunch of metal tubes...sigh. I know. They are many people who think of other things too simply. I am not sure how to put it.

At the end of the day, I think people just need to appreciate that a company like Fujitsubo went through the trouble of developing a product for our cars from scratch.

It's very easy to make a front pipe for this car, the jig is already out there and plenty of companies have made it. To make a quality piece? That's harder... much harder.

I may have found the perfect setup...

Tomei UEL + Fujitsubo front pipe + Blitz VSR exhaust.

Absurdly quiet! And no cats if you aren't into cats.

Sounds very tempting as I'm hunting for a new setup. Would love to hear it even though I'm sure videos won't do it justice.

I know they are the same volume, but how was it inside the car compared to stock?

I've got the Cosworth Cat Back (the rest stock) and dont want to make it any louder when cruising on the motorway, if anything a tad quieter for my taste.

It changes the note of the exhaust slightly. Zero drone and zero increase in in-cabin noise over whatever you have now, but the exhaust will sound slightly deeper.

I'm tempted to make a 4000-mile trip at the end of this month running a full catless setup to see how well my sanity holds up.

Alex, inside the cabin, does the Apexi header/op/fp increase cabin noise or does it also remain the same as with just a catback?

Or you can do what I did and buy the Berk front pipe, buy a Vibrant resonator and install it after the cat and have a catted and resonated FP for 1/2 of the price.

Depends on the catback. I would say mostly the same, but hard to say.

Yes you can do that too, but in this case we are also assuming that the setup w/ a welded resonator provides sufficient sound suppression, and assuming that setup can be replicated with same results for different exhaust systems.

My goal with this is to illustrate the difficulty of achieving certain exhaust notes on our cars with mix/match components like header/front pipe/exhaust.
