Is the FRS the reincarnation of the Dino 246GT?

Similarities: 200hp, ca 2700 lbs, 4 cam engines, similar size, raw sportscars.

Feel the Twins also reminds me of the reincarnation of the Alfa Romeo 2000 GT.

I think the FRS is a reincarnation of the Alfa in spirit of driving, but 246 is much closer in power output and performance. Actually I bought the FRS as a daily driver because it is so close in driving experience to the 246- very light, tactile steering, low seating position, great go-kart like handling.

Of course there is no comparison in original price-- you could buy a small house for the price of a 246 in 1972 while you probably couldn't even get a room addition for the price of a new FRS today.

The twins are a dead on resemblance to the old 2000GT

No, its not an reincarnation of a Dino. You'd also be incorrect about the weight, the Dino is modestly lighter than a FRS, being about 2300-2400 lbs not 2700. The only dimension the FRS matches a Dino is length, otherwise the FRS is fatter and taller. DOHC is no big deal...the vast majority of cars today have DOHC.

What this picture does tell me though is that Ferrari of today has forgotten how to make a beautiful car. They make striking cars...but this is a 1960s design that still looks amazing and even fits with a contemporary sports car of today, as if it never aged.

I certainly agree with you about current Ferraris not being beautiful. The front-engine cars are particularly unattractive.
