OFT or ROM-Raider?

I'm looking for a tuning solution that is capable of À la carte tuning. I have ROM raider but I just find it very complex and can't afford to buy a new ECU if I mess it up. From what I can gather OFT lets me tune without using pre programed stage like tunes. I want to tune per mod. Lets say I install a header and want just to tune for that I know I can do a RR tune À la carte but will OFT do the same but less complex? Just need some advice based on personal experiences.

Thanks!

OFT is a device to flash tunes and log it comes with a set of tunes for stock cars and cars with catless headers el/uel on petrol and e85.

romraider is a piece of software that allows you to edit tunes/roms. It has no ability to flash tunes

They are completely different.

Maybe your confusing Romraider with Tactrix/Ecuflash

you can use romraider to edit or alter the tunes the oft comes with if you wanted to do so.
