If for every $100 you make you spend every single bit of the net post-tax amount on fuel, you are doing something pretty bad wrong...

Well, it's not 100% accurate either, because it doesn't take into account the embedded taxes caused by corporate tax. In practicality, there is no such thing as a "corporate tax". All taxes are paid by the individual, either directly or indirectly. Corporations build their tax rates right into the cost of their products, just like they do with things like marketing, HR, and other overhead costs.

So, even more of your $100 budgeted for fuel is really tax dollars.

So do you think the massive corporations that pay zero in taxes, or get subsidies from the government, that they really pass the savings on to you the consumer? Or rather do they pad CEO wealth with it, offshore it, or do stock buybacks with it...

Speaking specifically about fuel taxes, we have some choice regarding how far we commute and how fuel-efficiently we do it, so whether the tax is at the pump or on corporate profits, we have some control on how much we pay. So again I'll say that someone who spends every last dime of his post-tax income on fuel is doing something BAD wrong....

Well we're in the wrong thread for this so I'll just say yes, I do believe that it would make it to the consumer, at least partially due to competition.

Regardless to think corporations pay the tax bill is naïve, whether it ends up at the government or in some fat cat's pocket, it all comes from the customer and is figured into the cost of doing business. Corporations figure the profit margin they need to run at, and then calculate the cost of the product to get there.

We can agree to disagree..

My exact thought. The author really went all in on that analogy, wasting space that could have been put to better use.

That quick steering will bite you if you aren't smooth and precise. When it does bite, though, the car becomes a Formula Drift champion. The car's balance and predictability while oversteering are entirely responsible for the longest drift I've ever completed on our figure-eight track.

This could be fun...

Just as I knew all along, the reviews would roll in, comparisons would be won and negative comments would turn into positives. How nearsighted people are. Looks phenomenal in that pic btw. Cayman looks like a turd next to it
