I'd check out all the places that Food Network/Travel Channel shows have gone to. One that I can remember is Leaping Lizards Cafe that was featured on Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives.

Highlights would be Waterman's right around 5th and Atlantic. Rudees which is on the inlet right down the street. Chicks Oyster Bar which is off of Shore Drive. Citrus on shore drive for breakfast. Doc Taylor's around 23rd street for breakfast. And if you want lunch, check out Taste Unlimited. Hope this helps!

Thanks. I had Leaping Lizard on my list for lunch on the way down on Friday and I was also looking at Capt'n Georges Buffet, Tautogs & Rudees for seafood and Nautilus for breakfast buffet.

Looked at Yelp and TripAdvisor last night...........

Anyone been to any of the 3 seafood joints?

If you are staying around the resort / oceanfront area - Tautog's or Waterman's will be your best bet. If you are willing to venture away from the oceanfront, check out Steinhilbers. It use to be part of a hunt club which eventually was turned into a residential area, but the restaurant remains. Food is good, and it is like stepping back in time with servers in white tuxes.

If you like Italian, try Razzo, which is in Norfolk. Aldo's is another good Italian restaurant which is not too far away from the oceanfront.

If you have money to burn, try Todd Jurich's in Norfolk (place where the high roller business types go).

Ugh Captain George is atrocious if you actually enjoy seafood. If all you're trying to do is stuff your gullet full of seafoodesque sustenance, then go for it. Otherwise, try to find some place that specializes in whatever you want to eat.

Crap, looks like VB is gonna be a beer town this weekend as they are running the Yuengling 1/2 and full marathons there this weekend. I wondered why all the hotels were near capacity. Now I know. But there will be lotsa beer!

Hey,

Sorry haven't post here for anything for a while (a lot of work was getting in my way).

Anyways, you guys have been very helpful & if I may ask for big favor. We had unexpected stuff happened & 86EXPO event coordinating was delay til now (mostly due to me, I'm sorry). I want to do 86EXPO at VA as some of you guys noticed. I want direct honest opinion (& try not too much bias feedback).

In VA, there are 2 SCCA region ODR & BRR. Which you guys sounds better to hold the event? In weather condition (looking around end July).

Also if any of you guys have any connection w Toyota/Scion &/or Subaru deal to help out hold the event, please PM me.

& most of all, if any of you guys have free time to help/volunteer, please let me know. Ive never been to East, so help from you guys will help A LOT. I know few of you have PM to help w event & I really appreciate it.

Thanks

ichi

Doing Some Research I guess it depends on which would result in Lower Costs. Both should be about the same distance from anyone coming north of the VA area. I would be inclined to say ODR because they are closer to the beach and more of a "city" in comparison to roanoka or norfolk (depending on where the event would be held based on the SCCA availability).
