My money is on a different front bumper and some slightly changed tail lights and that is about it.

There's always a flip side. I notice that resale rates in AU are actually pretty high for the twins with BRZ's having the same 65% value retention rate as STI's after 3 years. According to Redbook, our used car guide in AU.

Your comment likely lies behind the main reason why, given the only changes being cosmetic (over the years) and so not enough change for existing owners to want to jump ship to a new one.

I'm really enjoying the car we already have and am happy with it still being worth something in a few years, if I decide to get another twin or move on to something in the same price range that is better (honestly don't see that happening).

Buy a 800$ Miata and love it. Mod it, eat in it, live in it, and make love in it. Than when you're financially stable in life buy a brz/fr-s. Or you can learn the hard way like i did and have daddy or mommy buy you a new car and crash it when your young and fearless. Sorry for being a Debby downer.

Ok guys, and most of my plans like turbo aren't to be done right after buying it, but more after having it for a couple years. I was just curious because I love cars and love seeing how they work and seeing what can be done to them, but i really didn't want to go overboard on it; due to the fact I'm in Florida and people don't know how to drive in Florida. Again thanks guys! (let the sh*t show begin!)

They are not mutually exclusive.

Just like there are plenty of idiots with college degrees and geniuses stuck on the poverty line because of factors they do not control I(physical, psychological limitations, coordination, etc.).
Idiotic is actually not understanding the multiquote function on a discussion forum, instead making multiple posts in the same thread for responses.

Learning to properly drive a car quickly is never idiotic and will only make middling drivers like you even better. Always money well spent, especially if you're considering tracking, as the original poster mentioned.

I'm back, stuff was busy and I didn't have the time to come. I'm 14, and in Florida you can get a permit at 15 and license at 16. I just wanted to see what you guys recommend to see if 1. I should even try... 2. to see what I'm getting myself into. 3. If I choose to go through with this, I kinda want to create a plan to follow so for upgrading/tuning/whatever you want to call it the car. Overall this was to see what I'm getting myself into. And thanks for all your help

Just don't let yourself be convinced that more HP is a requirement by the paper racers. This is a car that needs to be driven stock before you can truly decide that something needs to be changed. Believe us when we say it can be giggle worthy without having to go turbo. If you wish to just have fun by peddle mashing then a WRX or Mustang may be a better choice (This is in no way bashing those cars but that is what they are for). The 86 was designed as a road car that takes a turn well and needs to be wrung out to be at it's best. When you start changing those characteristics then you will gain in one area but lose in another. Just keep that in mind as you do your planning.

Ok, thank you. I saw the FR-S first and fell in love with it, but fell more in love with the BRZ. I know the BRZ is more of a road car, and thats why I wanted it. Overall i want a car that i can abuse as a daily driver yet still have some fun with. thank you for all your help!

I know what falling for a car is like. You have your mind set on it no matter what. As your 1st car. And driving in Florida. (Bad tourist drivers from around the world )
. You will crash like all of us have our 1st car.
I recommend you buying it used.
JMHO.
Now the best thing about Florida is no snow and no front bumper licence plate. Yay!!
