the idle problem you guys are having is because of the defroster setting on your heat controls. take it off the defroster setting and the A/C wont kick on and off to remove the moisture from the air and your idle wont be affected by this...

So what you're saying is the A/C compressor being engaged is causing the idle problem. I think there are people having the idle problem even without the A/C compressor engaged. I have not tested it myself because it's been too hot to drive around without A/C!

it engages on and off for about 1 second out of every 8 seconds or so if youre using the defroster, which causes the idle to jump around.

Can somebody post a video of the car's tachometer while driving, showing an example of what it drives like with the pulley on?
I've searched around but I cant seem to find a video anywhere for this vehicle. |

Sure thing. But I must say I have both pulley and flywheel. I'll probably post sometime tonight or tomorrow.

I've already got it in my AT. It isn't a huge change but it is noticable and I'm glad I did it.
A note for anyone thinking about changing the pully on an AT. Beacuse you can't put it in gear you will need a tool of some sort to hold the pull while you loosen/tighten the nut. Grimmspeed makes a took that isn't made speciffically for our cars, but I was able to get it to work on both the stock, and Perrin pully. |

1/2" socket set 1/2" Breaker bar (x2 for the AT) 1/2" torque Wrench Pulley Tool (Helpful on an MT, a must on the AT) Screwdrivers Its an easy job as long as you have some level of comfort. The instructions in the DIY area are very good and easy to follow. I've never changed a crank pulley before but I've changed accessory belts on lots of cars and this is much easier then most. It took me about 20 minutes, if I had to do it again it would be a 10 minute job. |

Honestly, something this simple could be done with the tools in a driveway/parking lot in a matter of minutes.
