You don't start it - just crank it a few times.

It's how I removed my Toyota 1JZGTE crank bolt ... which is a pain in the ass.

I know, but wouldn't it be more fun to start it! Think of how much time that would save as it would unscrew the bolt for you, and remove the wrench!

some sarcasm there.....

Just installed mine today. Very easy and simple to do. I took it for a quick spin and I like it so far. About to head out for a longer drive to run some errands and test it some more (read "spirited driving").

When I had the pulleys off, I tossed them both on a scale I use to ship packages. 3lbs 11oz lighter. Just holding the two parts, is night and day difference in weight as shown by the scale.

Out for some testing....

This is true. They are dampeners, not balancers. But OEMs and 3rd party manufacturers still call them balancers. An annoying technicality. Like when people call the struts "shocks". We are all set in the ways of old

While you're here, quick inquiry:

1. Is Molly cute?

2. Is that harassment?

My idle is still a yo-yo even with the pulley installed

EDIT: I didn't expect the pulley to solve this either. I'm just waiting for a CEL to come on if it does. If it doesn't & I have a problem in the future, it's been documented 1900 miles into ownership.

I hit 1000 miles around a month ago. I'm currently at 2,050 or so.

Yes, it would drop to 300-400 and stumble a little before returning to 650.

I'll remove the pulley if I get a CEL so they can't blame it on that even though I told my service department about it when the stock pulley was on. I got tired of looking at my pulley sitting on a shelf so I installed it on Wednesday.
