I for the most part, ignored it. If I got a trophy, it was because I just HAPPEN to complete the necessary requirements to obtain it. I can say, the only trophy I ever pursued conciously was the GT5 Stock GTR trophy for lapping faster on the Nurburgring than the real life GTR lap time.

That's the point I was trying to make. "The console made no sense from my perspective" is how I would have worded it. (and how I felt about the PS3 until Uncharted, MGS4, and a few other games came out) It comes across as less... aggressive.



I'm going to nit pick this a bit too... A failure indicates that there was no recovery or that the product no longer exists. Look at most startups for a reference of a failure. The launch of the PS3 was rocky, but not a failure. No-one is arguing that. Especially not me. Anyone who think that launch was a "blazing success" is blind and dumb. But failure is an extreme over-exaggeration of the launch. Again, poor choice of wording. It'll only lead to flame bait.

Yeah, there are some pretty big missteps on the part of Microsoft's DRM, but I'm getting sick of hearing it from anyone and everyone go on about how worthless and garbage the XBO is, how the features are stupid and how it's so much more expensive (despite shipping with more hardware). At the heart of things, they are more equal than not, and I see much of the comments as petty revenge jabbing to get back at Xbox fans for all the heat Sony took after the 2006 E3. Cuz let's face it... that was.... rough for them.

@cfusionpm, It's well known the missteps MS took with the XB1. Let's hope they fix them before launch so we can have a healthy competitive market. It's a win-win for Sony and MS fans alike

They won't. I don't think it will hurt the sales all that much and it looks like they're well committed to their digital family share plan. I still think it's cool and don't mind the DRM stuff, but again, it doesn't really apply to me since neither losing internet or buying/selling used games are an issue to me. I don't see how they could without fundamentally changing how games are used between people. I doubt they will admit they were "totally wrong" and scrap the DRM, especially after their announced partnership with EA (which already sent fear into my bones back at THAT announcement).

I'm still probably going to buy one and I'm still probably going to like it. If I had $1500 to spare, I would probably buy both day one. Luckily on launch day, I'm getting my XBO and my roommate is getting the PS4. They'll both be hooked up to 50" in the living room, so it should be a pretty good experience regardless of which one is on.



*Estimating around $1500 for two consoles, a game or two each, and a PS+ account (already have Live, which renewed last month).
Will probably get Forza, CoD:G, Dead Rising 3, Watch Dogs, and maybe Quantum Break for XBO. Will wait for some better exclusives on PS4.... actually, will probably wait until price drop or bundle to pick them up. Going back and looking at the games list has solidified my choice further.

And a gigantic slap in the wallet for Konami, which matters more. That game is coming to 360, PS3, XB1, PS4 AND PC. Konami finally woke up on how to make money.

There was just some mis-communication. Major Nelson had to correct that on Twitter. It's just coming to their consoles.

I'd be buying an Xbox One if it was only coming there though. MGS is a system seller for me. I own pretty much all versions of the Solid games on multiple platforms.
