Greddy SP Elite Exhaust vs. Stock (vs. w/o muffler for reference)

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0izkr7GAL1E&list=HL1360175867&feature=mh_l olz"]Scion FR-S Greddy SP Elite Exhaust Vs. Stock - YouTube[/ame]

It's a nice modest sound enough for you to enjoy when driving but low enough that all the neighbors don't hate you. Also a big difference visually between the small stock tips and the ones with the Greddy. In terms of performance there isn't that much of a difference although it did feel like the throttle was more responsive, but then again it might just be a me. There is good sound inside with spirited driving, but also very comfortable for cruising. When you're on full throttle and you quickly release the gas there is a nice sort of low trumpet like back-pressure sound that is quite pleasing to hear.

I think it's a logical choice for a daily driver. In the future if I want to focus more on performance I would change it to a full exhaust, but since I live in the suburbs and have to spend an hour in the car every morning commuting; something too loud and that drones would be unbearable. Since I work and go to grad-school I haven't had time to go to the track, so more power isn't justifiable.

I spy a GT3...can we please have snippet of that car with no exhaust?

J/K (not really)! The SP Elite seems like a reasonable upgrade for a street car. Do you know the weight difference vs stock?

Haha. That would be something savage!
And no sorry, but it was quite a noticeable weight difference just from picking it up. Stock took me two hands to lift as opposed to easily lifting with only one hand the Greddy exhaust.

I'm just like you! I Commute an hour in traffic to work and go to bschool in the evenings. I've had my eye on the Greddy for some time. I didn't want something loud or droning but a more "refined" exhaust. My brother has the Perrin and after spending an hour sitting in his car I was sick of the noise. Maybe I'm just getting older :P

That's exactly why I got the SP Elite, that "refined" sound. And as you said feel like I'm just getting older. The whole time I was writing the post I was thinking the whole time, damn my 16 year-old self would be slapping me in the face.

I also like the look of the exhaust tips cause it's rolled. Other higher performance exhausts that cost more usually have that cheap look to it (e.g. Greddy EVO3, oddly enough).

Sure it's an axle-back, but whatever.

@r4m3n, @FR-anco89: I feel like you guys both hit it right on the head. I picked up the SP Elite because I'm not a punk 16 year old kid any more, and wanted something refined and high quality. Some might say 500 is a bit much for an axle back, but you definitely get what you pay for. I also have a 60+ mile daily commute and also am in the work + grad school boat, so I don't have time for all the nonsense that might be associated w/ an annoyingly loud exhaust.

Yeah there is no doubt that the finish and the built quality is worth the money. The thing that still to this day amazes me is how well it's fitted in every dimension. Well centered in the gap as well as the edge is very well lined up with the shape of the rear bumper. Truly a well constructed/designed product from Greddy.

In my defense my Perrin has a design flaw specific to AT which causes more drone to be transferred to the cabin. But I'm finally changing it out this friday
