The DRL power wire and the boomerang light wire should be together, there should then be a diode with those two wires on the one side and then the boomerang power wire out of the harness on the other side.

Both DRLs are probably lighting up because they use the same power supply wire on the harness, so power to one is power to both.

Hope that helps.

First off I wanted thank you everyone for helping me out.

1) @TallTerror13 what you say is true and that is exactly what I did originally
- Cathode side going to DRL and Boomerang
- Anode side going to the Harness
- Result (Auto; Daytime): No DRLs and No Boomerangs

2) So I tried it without the diode and connected it directly to see
- Result (Auto; Daytime): Everything turned on; DRLs, Boomerangs, and HL

3) So then I decided to switch the wiring around to see if it works then
- Cathode side going to the Boomerang and Harness
- Anode side going to DRL
- Result (Auto; Daytime): Same as stock; just Boomerangs

4) So I finally ended up with the one I have on now
- Cathode side going to DRL
- Anode side going Boomerang and Harness
- Result (Auto; Daytime): DRLs but no Boomerangs :/
- Result (Auto; Nighttime): DRLs, Boomerangs, HL

I'm very confused why #1 shouldn't work; even if I only worked on one side of the car (the driver side), it should still work on that one side. I really hope I'm wrong though and that two diodes are needed (left and right side) for this mod to work.

Any help is greatly appreciated guys. Also I have not worked on the passenger side yet, but the DRLs seem to work well on Both sides of the car, staying on all the time day and night. (just to note that again)

For sure and thank you. I will definitely get to it when I have the time

Thanks again. Planning to do it when Chicagoland is warmer.

What would be stopping power coming from the wiring harness through the green wire, then down the orange wire and into the DRLs?

My diagram was wrong so I just deleted it, thanks for catching that

Haven't read the whole thread so not sure what the current discussion is. Just wanted to stop in and say I did this mod today and it works great. Thanks @Lithium

Happened to notice that when I finished one side and turned my lights on that both of my DRLs stayed on and it kind of surprised me, shouldn't only the side I completed stay on? It doesn't really matter and isn't important I was just curious.

@Lithium Just to touch on the issue that everyone is having with when they wire one side both work, shouldn't you wire a diode on the DRL harness just like the one for the boomerang harness? That way your not sending power back through?

So, both of the harnesses on the anode side of their own diode, both of the lights on the cathode side of their own corresponding diode, and then a jumper wire in between the two diodes on the cathode sides.

It sounds like both DRLs are on the same relay. If you diode isolate each DRL 12Volt then it will stop the back feeding but to be honest its not really an issue unless someone wanted to turn individual DRLs on independently..... Maybe turn the left/right DRL in to a turn signal too...... ALL IN FAVOR SAY AYE!!!!??????

Is there a main reason to have the first pair of diodes in there?

If you did this it would stop both DRLs from turning on once the car was in night mode. I believe @Dr. BRZ did this exact thing. Is this what your referring to? You might have to post some artwork of what your talking about.

Never mind, I see its purpose now. The one to stop all of the headlights coming on when just shooting for the boomerangs to be on.

I would personally recommend against using this method, simply because the DRL's are at full brightness at nighttime. It would be much better to dim them partially with a PWM like the new Mercedes do. I'll be posting up a DIY for this very shortly.

I can see everyone's concern but these DRL really aren't that bright. They're no brighter than the headlights and the DRL beam doesn't stray to far from waist level. Having Pulse Width capabilities would be nice, please post a link when you get that nailed down. You should just grab a microprocessor and remove the diodes all together, Arduino Uno would be my personal choice.

Dude you're awesome, this exactly what I was going to post tonight, to see if anyone knew how I could dim the bottom LEDs when the full headlights come on, so I don't blind people at night. Can't wait for your DIY.
