done 1K service, they use 5W30 and 75W90 for the gearbox/LSD oil.

The reason I asked to change the gear oil is because of this thread:
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19218

Since gearbox is new maybe by doing the oil change will clean up the metal shavings.
I always change the gear oil once a year for my previous cars.

Cost is AED 465 tho
Hi there, how did it feel after changing the transmission oil?

No difference It was ok before the oil change, just want to clean the metal shavings during break-in period.
Gearbox a bit notchy during first few miles in the morning, but never grinding.

I think we will not have problem like others facing in europe due to hot climate in here.

I think I will change the gearbox oil interval to 2 years, since it is costing AED 465

Ah thats smart, clearing the metal shavings. In regards to the notchy shifting when cold I think its normal. Every manual trasnmission car I drove did the same.

15,000km service at alfuttaim

Took the car for 15,000km service, and the service guy said that it costs 1500aed approximately! I said that this is not acceptable at all so he started explaining that the AC filter has to be changed and costs 600aed! Told him not to change it and he then reduced the estimate.

Three hours later I received a call from them and they said total cost is 1,005aed which I disagreed on and then they reduced the price to 931aed.

Note: They used oil grade of 5w30 for the second time and it clearly states in the owners manual to use 0w20 at least every other oil change. In regards to the AC filter, it's much cheaper to buy from the parts department and install yourself, I have done that with all Toyotas I owned as its really easy (dont ignore it as it puts your health at risk).

Hi,

Any reason they gave you on the oil that was being used. they are supposed to use the 0W20 only right. Also did you ask wy they did not give discount on the oil? i think it is also considerd as spares right?

Labour AED 500 looks reasonable considering agency rate is around AED 250 per hour.
Maybe they can reason they need more time to inspect the car since the car is brand new.

Oil and filter price is also ok.

but A/C filter AED 600?

better buy elsewhere.

I didn't have a chance to ask about the oil used because I picked the car at 7pm when only the receptionistis there to handover the car.
