I was told yesterday by the service manager I most trust at my dealership that since it's "just" a TSB, this will not result in an automatic fix since it does not prevent the proper functioning of the engine. You will want to indicate that you find it a nuisance and not an appropriate sound for a sports car to make.

It sounds like a minor thing, but he suggested that I be very specific about my concern regarding this specific issue when I bring the car in to ensure that it's handled - the HPFP replacement is not an insignificant cost to Toyota.

While I'm not positive this is a revised HPFP, I'm gonna go as soon as possible. The higher are the replacement costs to Toyota/Subaru and the more people are potentially getting close to a lemon-law buyback thresholds - the higher the chances that Toyota/Subaru will bother with a proper fix.

So why are cars tuned to e-85 still getting this noise? cause it's a pump issue ?
it's probably a simple issue like a tolerance issue in the pump. It does sound like metal to metal.

I got off the phone with my Rep. I picked up my vehicle Thursday after 20+ days in the shop for the CEL / SL I saw the SB and last night and this morning confirmed I am getting the chirping issue and will be back at the dealership Tuesday. I was told I would not need to leave it and could continue driving it.

Lets see if I can get condensation in my tail lights and go 3 for 3

Hey subie guys, I showed the TSB to my Subaru dealer, and they told me SOA was aware of the problem too and they are sending my dealer a tool to fix it.
