Thank you very much, JD. I really appreciate your help. My car is really running great - I could not be happier. It is the first AVO turbocharged customer car in the UK. I have managed to wire up my gauge ( with the exception of the RPM wire - that is my task for this weekend). Once I sort it out, I will repay your help and kindness by letting you know how I do it. I took my +12v from the fuse box, which is ideally placed right under the RHS vent, where my gauge is fitted.

Tuned... I think

So after a few glitches I think I have a tuned car. Think being the operative word. We're a little short on tuners here in Western Australia with ECUtek... By that I mean there is one. So I'm reserving judgment for now until I've run the results through a few litmus tests. But the numbers are fantastic.

I'll admit I was initially a little underwhelmed with the results of the AVO kit. See previous dyno posts and description of car behaviour for why. However I had a few glitches with my kit (exhaust leaks at the headers and the original light spring actuator). Early on Tuesday I had it in at my workshop and changed out the headers and the actuator... What a difference that made. Boost was instantaneous and a serious kick in the pants... Could be because the new actuator was dialled up with waaaaay too much preload. The actuator wasn't opening at all so the car was over boosting majorly. However even once I got that sorted it was a huge difference in boost.

To begin with I was running on the AVO stage 1 base map until I got the car retuned. Bearing in mind that I hadn't replaced the map sensor or anything along the lines... It ran brilliantly. Even the tuner who has since turned the car up was very impressed with it. We used it as a base run to see how the car was behaving prior to turning up the boost. With the 7psi actuator, no upgraded sensor and just wastegate pressure the AVO kit on basemap ran 180kw or 240hp at the hubs.

Following on from that I've added an ECUtek controlled boost solenoid into the car and turned the boost up a little further as well. It's now running about 10Psi of boost on 98 octane. Not sure how I feel about this yet (still on stock injectors/pump etc). I'm having someone independently dyno it and will be logging how it's behaving before pushing it hard... But it seems to be behaving alright.

The numbers everyone's been reading this post for... 200kw (268hp) at the hubs, 340Nm of Torque. This is on a different sort of dyno from my other posts so I'm not 100% on the figures yet. When I've run it on Platinum's dyno I'll throw that graph up as well.

Just to avoid confusion... Green line is torque, Blue line is power in KW, Yellow line is boost in KPa. Platinum's graphs when I get them will be in HP/Nm/Psi for the imperial system users amongst the forums!

Hi JD

As promised, I have found where to connect the green wire on a RHD car. If you still need to know, I will send you a PM if you like, so as not to clutter up your thread.

Did you get your green wire hooked up yet? I made posts about where you need to tap in to get RPM.

Hey mate,
Not yet. I think I've found where it goes though. I really need to get it hooked up though as I was running tonight and my boost gauge wasn't actually reading boost. Maybe I'm just not driving hard enough haha.

If it doesn't read boost then either the vacuum line isn't hooked up anymore, but then you wouldn't get vacuum either or you tapped into a vacuum source after a check valve that prevents it from seeing boost.

Thanks mate, and thanks for the oil cooler! You're car is looking good too. I see you're getting closer to the TRD Griffon concept in looks haha.

Still have a lot of work to do on the car, and I am currently sorting through some issues (read my car has been in the workshop not working for over a week ) Hopefully it will be back up and running and better than new shortly.
