Anyone else feel 86 'd from the cool kid club?

Typically I receive waves and drive-by hellos from other 86 drivers. When it comes to fellow scion or subaru owners I don't typically go out of my way to say whats up. Nothing personal, I just figured it was an understood thing amongst 86'ers - similar to how motorcyclists give the nod or wave

I've never seen another twin on the road, and only a handful parked anywhere. I do wave at subies (I also own an Impreza) and usually get a wave back from the scoobies.

With that said, I've driven past a (presumably high school) kid near the local high school multiple times and he always initiates a wave...drives an SVX. Kinda jealous of him.

In the beginning I had people wave or say whats up, now its like.. nothing lol. Only a handful will wave or say whats up. The way I see it, its mostly the enthusiasts they will say whats up

We mostly get along here in New England. There's a couple guys that think they're God's gift but that's any and every where. I have noticed the rich older crowd(bimmer/benz/bentley) give me good gestures when we are on the highway. It does feel nice, would never had happened in my Civic.

i'll only get the occasional wave from modified BRZs or FR-Ss. usually those with stock ones don't seem to care or notice. i've had nods from STi and WRX owners.

I was all excited when I bought my 86. I would wave at both subaru owners as well as TC owners alike. Most of the time the subaru owners ignore me. And the same goes with the TC guys?
What gives? I think the suby guys are like... not AWD... hate it. And the TC guys are just jealous.

Now I must admit. I've linked up with a good group of people on some subaru forums that let me roll around with them in my scion. But as far as just random passing on the road I get the cold shoulder 90% of the time.

I came from the VW scene too but my local dubbers are actually really fuckin cool. I'm still a vdub fanboy and feel the urge to chuck a V at modded VWs then remember that just won't fly anymore. Honestly most of the car scene is full of assholes and dudes too cool for school cuz they're slammed on Raceland coils riding on WalMart tires. You just need a backbone to really even speak to some of these kids, but the cool ones can really change your life for the better.

First week I had my car some kid in an infinity paced me just to give me a thumbs-down. Kept thinking to myself, "well that was really uncalled for..." and just smiled.

I was at a stop light with the windows down. Some older guy in a forester XT (love that car) felt compelled to tell me Subaru's were supposed to be 4wd. My response, "I think you're confusing me with someone who gives a ****."

I wave at every frs driver I see in my brz. I never see any other brzs. However I get a lot of honks and thumbs up from wrx drivers.
