James. 20.
Lynnhood, WA. I drive a crappy '90 Civic LX (Yes, the sedan.) I fried the head the first summer I had it because I ignored a cooling problem, rebuilt it, replaced basically the whole ignition and charging systems, the water and fuel pumps, front and rear shocks.. Even with all that, once it's warmed up, it has this dirty, erratic idle, and dies if I don't give it a bit of gas. Can't figure out the problem, but.. once I get this problem fixed, the exterior trim's still messed up and the windows don't work right. Yeah, that about paints the picture on my car. It's craptastic, but I can't junk it after all the work and money. Edit: oh, and the coolant's still disappearing. Fun stuff. Last edited by Lexicon101; 01-17-2010 at 03:22 AM. Reason: I'm just overheating and acting like an angry 17 year old. |

It does pressurize though, and my oil looks fine. I might have just not filled it fully enough. I'm more interested in finding the culprit of the instant death upon red light.. It just bugs me that it only happens when the engine's hot. o2 sensor code on the ECU, but the CEL hasn't come on once since then.. I'll have to check that to make sure, but.. |

Frankie's running like a champ.
Turns out I forgot to clean off the piston rings when I replaced the head and the gasket didn't stick there. Eating coolant and misfiring. If you're having similar problems, a good idea is when you've eaten much of your coolant, pull off the rad cap and put your palm over the hole with the engine running. if it puffs air against your hand, your gasket isn't functioning properly. |
