Philips has a big manufacturing plant in rural China I believe. They have to meet US production standards but I've heard there's little kids working there.

Explains why the iPhone is a bad argument for "how great Chinese products are". Pretty much nails it how it was brought up in here.

In my experience I have recieved shittier parts from usa than from china when ordering knock-offs so in this segment china is far superior. But it is just like Tcoat said. It doesn't matter what country the product is from. It is the standards they are manufactured by that counts. I had a front lip from allmighty technical heaven on earth Germany that was so bad that made chinese product looked like varis. By the way Slash is still playing his chinese gibson guitar even though he is sponsored by gibson. And musicians are A LOT mor anal about their gear then petrolheads.

To say all products made in China (or any other country really) are crap is like going to the US, eating only McDonalds, and then saying all the restaurants are horrible.

It takes 3-5 years to get a new plant up and running. And thats if they have the money to do so. As far as parts, you expect part manufacturers to just up and switch where they make parts? That also takes time AND money, if they do that, prices will still increase, at least in the short term.

If a true trade war commences it will benefit no one. Materials will become more expensive, there will be material shortages, products will become more expensive because many companies will be forced to pass along costs to consumers, cut labor forces, and in some cases, close down. It is also likely that competition (which often leads to innovation) between and among certain companies in various fields will suffer as well.
Does no one in this administration understand history and the lessons it has bestowed upon those who are willing to research or at least listen? |

Toyota may not import some models due to Trump Tariffs and would raise prices on the ones they do: https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/comp...5Vb?li=BBnbfcN

China makes 'crap' products because there is a global demand for 'crap' products. Chinese products can be extremely high quality, it's not their fault people want to buy cheap junk. They are just supplying the demand for junk better than everyone else.

I'm fine if that means an end to the importing of the BRZ. But only because I already bought mine. Kind of sad that's all it might take to end sales here though.
