you think the catless version will be bad even with two resonators in the system? i plan on using a resonated front pipe, and still have a resonator in the midpipe...but going fully catless.

Does anyone know how much regression there will be after the ECU has adjusted or relearned? Any dynos with the header/exhaust/tune but no ecu reset?

A bit embarrassed that I can't find the weight of the OEM manifold when I search.

Anyone? TIA

The resonators will help, but how much... I can't really say. I didn't drive it in that layout. I would guess it also depends on what muffler you're going to use.

If you're going fully catless, I'm sure you've run this in the past, so you do have an idea of what to be prepared for. My warnings are mainly for the people who have never gone with this layout previously so they weren't shocked at the sound.

Worst case scenario, with the way the header is set up, you can always buy the catted piece later if you can't handle the sound rather than buy a whole new header.

We had repeated pulls and idling on every new update that @FA20Club.com sent us, and other than flashing, there were no other ecu resets. All of the pulls were all fairly consistent and didn't show any regression, in fact there seemed to be slight gains on each pull.

That being said, I was on a time limit with my work schedule so we couldn't pull the car off the dyno, drive it for 30 minutes, put it back on, and run a pull.

Aloha, mahalo nui loa. I'm just happy to be able to do my small part for everyone. The guys at P&L and Tony @FA20Club.com did all of the work. I'm just an average joe who supplied my car, and got to test drive the product.

It does however give me a chance to give some end user feedback to P&L, and answer basic "liveability" questions here.

I stand corrected, Paul weighed his stock manifold, and it's 21.5. The catted header comes in at just under 1lb lighter, while the catless saves you a little over 4lb.

20.9 pounds. See ft86speedfactory's borla header thread.

i was fully catless on my STi and had the external wastegate dump right to atmosphere, there is no way it would smell worse.

i'm just trying to figure out whats bet for a DD but i dont wanna rob myself of power either...maybe catless header with a resonated and catted front pipe...

That's the combo I'm going to run, with a possible Helmholtz in the front pipe as well.

Ditto... waiting until spring though but no cats.
Invidia N1 catback + Invidia catless resonated frontpipe + overpipe (undecided) + header (undecided)... this system will have two resonators between the midpipe and frontpipe.

I've ran fully catless on a WRX, two STis, and a V8 S4. Never did have a problem with stink.

I'm not so much worried about stink as I am rasp. I can't stand rasp in an exhaust.

Listen to FT-86 SpeedFactory's video between the catless and catted V1 with the Borla UEL header. The catted version hands down sounds so much better. Generally, most of the exhaust systems on here with a catted front pipe all sound great. I really haven't heard a catless system that I've liked because of the raspy sound. I know it is all personal preference, but I'm big on exhaust tone.

I appreciate videos, but typically exhausts sound soooo different in person. For example, I have not listened to a single N1 catback video that I think truly captures what my exhaust sounds like.
