Amazingly ... this hasn't been mentioned. I made sure that the dealership put premium fuel in the car. They had to take the car to a gas station since most toyota dealerships have no premium fuel.

I always ask to see that car on the lift so that you can get a visual of the underside of the car and everything at eye level. Usually, talking to the tech about cars and what models have had the most issues makes you look less like a douschebag.

Priority List of When Vehicle is Picked Up:

1. No License Plates of Any Kind
2. I Want to See the Car on a Lift
3. No Washing(Car is clayed and detailed at home)
4. Plastic Seat Covers on the Seats(Porters like to put their keys hooked to their pants and they snag the seat upholstery.
5. Always Drive the Car Before Taking Delivery

Checking the oil and tire pressures never hurts and makes the dealer-techs look like idiots when you correct their mistake.

When your car get detailed by the dealer, they use pads, waxes, polishes and clays that have been used numerous times before and haven't been tended to for maintenance. So when the detailer goes to do what he's told to do, the products applied and used have been compromised of their original shapes and structures so you get an inferiour application of product.

What you end up with is swirling in the paint, spiderwebbing, holograms and numerous micro-scratches. It makes the paint look much older than it actually is.

For your vehicle ...D1712679

1) grommets
2) check the body panels for proper fitting(early issue)
3) have dealer program car locator feature
4) have dealer delete DRL(if you want, same method as above)
5) make sure radio set to FR-S mode(not tC)(read manual if dealer didn't)
6) check tweeter covers(can fix yourself in seconds if necessary)
7) seatbelt buzzer/chime delete(ask dealer, some here claim they had it done)
8) horn honks with remote double click(another dealer job)
9) check the window rubber

That's most of the stuff I had/have planned for my possible purchase.

Amazing!

WOW What an amazing couple days it has been! I picked the car up Thursday morning in Vienna, VA after driving all night to get there. Car had not even had a PDI done to it yet! I told them not to wash it, which they didn't, and I drove the car to the gas station myself and had the salesman fill it with 93 octane! Rubber grommets were installed. I picked a different Whiteout car because it didn't have the dealer sticker on the back, so my VIN is 7119XX. The Bridgestones are on it but might not be a bad thing, the days have been like 35 degrees F. Drove it 550 miles home only stopping a few times, but shifting into all gears even from a cold start (today) has been great so far, and none of the idle issues or tail light condensation yet. I AM SO HAPPY

Congratulations! I'm looking for the same car as you and was able to locate one that is coming in to a near by dealership at the end of the month. I wish this car had the Bridgestone equipped on them as I prefer them over the Michelin Primacy hps. Living in central Florida means dealing with alot of rain and reading all these bad stories with the Michelin Primacy during normal DD doesn't sit well with me.
