I too would buy it if I didnt already have one. Glad mine is modded to crap so I wont be tempted to take a hit and trade (I'd get reamed in the trade). Same spirit, updated to keep consumers interested. Probably more content for the buck compared to my '13. I'd expect a price increase, maybe $1000. Keep in mind Toyota doesn't have a pure price policy. I do keep thinking of the show "Catfish" for some reason...?

It's a nod to the modding community, obviously they're expecting you to put your NOS buttons there.

Oh boy... the day has finally come! And what can I say?

First of all, it is definitely uglier than the previous model. I loved the original's simple semi-aggressive sports car look. Some might even mistake it for a supercar. But this new one is just trying too hard. It looks more aftermarket boy racer/ricer. I doubt anyone is going to assume it's worth more based on the looks anymore. It's like the designer couldn't think of any way to make it better so he just added a bunch of lines to the parts being updated, totally forgetting that the rest of the car is relatively smooth.

And the interior just looks very unfinished. Why are there so many blank buttons? I hate that because it constantly reminds you that compromises were made in cost or design. They basically just raided their leftover parts bin. (I warned you guys who wanted steering wheel controls that they would do this!!) And I know that red stitching doesn't match all colors but I was wanting red anyway so the silver is very meh. I would prefer black stitching over silver.

However, when it comes to mechanical changes, I just want to see the new torque curve and what actually gives it more power/torque. But it sounds like the changes were even more minor than expected.

So yeah, overall, pretty disappointed! It took them 5 years of development for this? I mean, they could have just kept it exactly the same styling and just added the power change and offered the Toyota options everyone wanted, and that would have guaranteed sales. But instead they had to risk it all by throwing out a new, ugly design and the power/mechanical changes still aren't significant enough to win anyone over. You had one job Toyota... I'm afraid this may be a fail.

So now I am left conflicted... Hopefully Subaru will come out with an improvement of their version. I suppose I could learn to live with the sub-par, messy looks but I think every time I'd see an older FR-S, I would wish for what could have been.

Finally made it to the end of this thread.

My favorite part is how our little brother finally grew his teen pencil 'stache. Cute, like when Bieber turned 16.

To all the people who waited for a power increase instead of enjoying the car as is.

LOL.

It'd be funny if they found that 5hp just by fixing the shitty stock tune, which Shiv and other tuners did 3 years ago.
